it said I was supposed to haul some spy drones.
It said that they attach themselves to an enemy ship and allow you to follow the ship around knowing where it goes in each system and where in that system.
Just gave me a thought that i think it would be a neat addition in the game for pvp. You agress someone attach a drone sort of like a lo-jack to their ship giving you the ability to see where they go and reengage for some predetermined amount of time.
Anyway thought it was cool.

Very interesting, but exactly how would you see the person? Will it only be seen on map, or will you have a separate box saying his exact location, or will your camera actually give you the point of view of the ship, and if so, what happens to your own ship?

personally (and this is just opinion) it would be something simular to probes. The person would show on your scanner and give you a warp to point. As far as in another system. It could just act the same as "corp members in space" function currently does.

Drone spy bugs were planned, afaik. There's a chronicle about it, pre-release, that describes an ore thief who plants one on a miner, then follows him to a belt. ---
Is this a constructive post? |

Edited by: Wrayeth on 21/10/2005 03:11:52 I made a post in the Features and Ideas forum a week or two ago with something similar: homing beacon missiles. They fit into the normal launcher classes and appear and fly as the appropriate missile type for that launcher (i.e. is indistinguishable from a normal missile of that type except that it inflicts no damage).
When you are hit by one, it magnetically attaches to your ship, providing a beacon that the person who fired it can warp to for up to five minutes after, depending on skills. This beacon would show up on the overview of the person who fired it. -Wrayeth

A great idea. Then I could chase Ikvar to wherever he is secretly mining.
