after getting a closed socket are others having trouble relogging too?
Not sure how to word this issue in an error report or if I should bother... last error report I think I sent in was the wing commander not getting boosts & still waiting for that fix

Yeah, I have to try a couple of times before it lets me connect.

its got worse for me. I have to reboot after a closed socket now to restart EVE
well i've filed a bug report. my faith in those are a bit thin TBH

Its not so much that it is changing things: ITS FORCING ME NOW TO REBOOT THE PC TO CHANGE ALTS

Logging off can often times simulate a reboot for vista up windows os
Not seen this issue myself but a reboot should only be needed when the kernel is messed with.
Actually, i can't remember the last time i installed graphics drivers that force a reboot.
