Just thought I would pass on some results of two problems I have had.
Problem 1. I have been suffering from a lot of CTD's recently, it got so frustrating that I couldn't even leave the station and venture outside because I would most probably crash when someone targetted me.
Resolution. Luckily I have 2 PC's, so I switched to the second machine and messed around with my hardware config. The second machine proved to be relatively stable but as soon as I moved the memory from the first machine into the second I started getting multiple CTD's again. Switched back to the original memory and everything was fine(ish)  .
Problem 2. Had a Black screen when docking at a station. Switching between Windowed and Full Screen would let me see the station interior for a second or two but would then generate an exception error. This happened to me twice, the first time a GM moved me to a system 7 jumps away, got me out of a problem but made life interesting as I had to travel through 2 well known PC Pirate systems to get home. 
So I travelled home, docked at the original station, and guess what .... yep, black screen again. Decided I didn't want to wait for a GM to move me so I tried messing around.
Resolution: Deleted the complete cache folder, relogged and hey presto, I was back in the station and could see everything. 
Hope this may help a few people out there.

WOW your black screen solution didn't work for me but something along those lines did.
I docked with a shuttle to pick up a new Cruiser and got a Black screen. I was able to fumble around and assemble my Thorax and active it. Then I was able to fumble around and open my Shuttles cargo bay then fumble around and find the two Afterburners and drag and drop them to my hanger. I then fumbled to find them again and using right click was able to fit them to my new cruiser. After that I usually have to wait for a GM to move me because EVERYTHING works in black screen but the EXIT button. But reading your post I tried your idea but it didn't work for me, BUT, in Full Screen my Exit Station button works so that is another way for a work around. I am out.

Yes, it will help in the future. Just had the same experience while docking. (I was typing a message at that specific moment, maybe EVE doesnt like that?)
I emptied the cache, but to no avail. Restarting and rebooring didnt help either. I installed the game again, and lo and behold, everything functions again.....

For me, it happened when Windows Update automatically loaded a yahoo page.
I play in windowed mode, and this happened right as I was docking into station.
Maybe some concurrency issue ruining a file in the cache; I delete everything in the cache, including prefs.ini, and it worked again right away. |

Im haveing the Black screen problum when i dock at the station my screen turned black and i tryed the exit station crtrole but then i got a system error. and i did alt enter it show the inside for a sec then the screen goes black agen then the system error came back up. i need help please can somon please help me.
Caldari will once again rise above the gallente and take back Caldari prime!

i got out of the proublum by click petetion and then chose stuck then tell them about your problum then thay moved me to another station.
Caldari will once again rise above the gallente and take back Caldari prime!
