Edited by: Shamis Orzoz on 22/10/2005 21:01:20 What do you have to do to claim sovereignty of a solar system? I thought you only had to be in an alliance and put up more pos's than anyboyd else, and select the claim space button on each pos...
But I did all that, and nothing happened. So what now? It would be a shame to waste an entire weekend for nothing, so any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Ok, for anybody else out there who is trying to take a region away from somebody...
You need to wait 2 downtimes before your sovereignty takes effect. Not sure if that's how it supposed to be, but that's how it is, and the GM's won't do anything to help you (unless perhaps you are one of the alliances with gm's in them).

"(unless perhaps you are one of the alliances with gm's in them)."
Why, hello there o.¶
(to quote from relevant thread:
"Sovereignty takes 2 DTs to register, not one. I've tested this, and so far it appears to be the case. I believe this is due to the 24 hour timer for sovereignty to change, which therefore makes it the first DT after the 24 hour timer has expired. Not a bug."
hope it helps... it sort of makes sense too, since it'd disable the silly "drop as many POSes as you can 5 mins before downtime and enjoy takeover 5 mins after downtime is over" rush tactics some might be tempted to try -.o

In Branch (& Tenal during the PA-Xelas war) the sovereignty system sometimes works in accordance to what josephine posted, sometimes instantly after the next dt, sometimes even not at all.
At least that's what has happened in my personal experience.
Sometimes you only lose the fuel discount in your POSes, sometimes your whole strategy get severely .... f**** up for attackers and defenders alike.
As some [5] members stated in another thread, its more like a "welcome to the POS Hell".
Whatever the case one should be prepped for all outcomes.
And its a shame really to have 200+ pilots (of all sides) just wondering what's going to happen.
I wouldnt like to be in any fleet commander shoes in these cases.
But, anyways it adds suspense to the game
...the weak always follow the strong...
