Hi there.
Ok so ive been training an alt for quite a while now, but havnt been using him. I finally finished my iterion mark 4, will begin training on the mk5 (man that takes forever!)
I want to use it for hauling to make money, but i tried this hauling lark today and BOY is it hard!
Everything i look at buys for example at 100, and sells at 80. How do i make a living from hauling?!
Yesterday i bought 10kM^3 of garbage, went 31 jumps and actually LOST 200k when i sold it for a higher price! (at least i think thats what happened. Im confused) Ive been using alts to check other regions for prices and i still dont get what im doing wrong.
Please can someone teach me? Any help will be much appreciated.

Contacts, Players. Limited amount of rich folk trading with each other unfortunately.

Oh... Well thats not too good...
Ive made about 2 million in a few hours of hauling so far, trading whatever i can find. But after the 6 months or so of training it took, was it really worth it? NO!
I'll train for an obelisk (how im going to afford one is another story). Buy that time i should have a better idea of what im doing. AND if i get an obelisk im sure theres alot of people who will want to give me hauling contracts...
Another 6 months of training 4tw!!

You could try using the item database to find out whose buying the stuff as they should be paying more. Dubious that theres much point in having a freighter with a capacity way in excess of the cargo you will be hauling.

NPC trading is decent, however you have to be smart about it.
The best trading is finding underpriced items, and selling them back to players on the open market. - Proud member of the [23].

1) Its not 6 months. Its about 3 weeks for an itty 5, and a few days more for an obelisk.
2) Using an obelisk, you can run NPC trade routes. I found one of these in my second month and made loads of money--it has nothing to do with "rich folk." Its just a matter of knowing what you're doing. Obviously, you don't. There was an NPC trading guide around here somewhere... - Proud member of the [23].

Do you have a linky to the NPC guide?
Also i maxed out my learning skills, along with science and engineering and all that lark so yes, it was about 6 months of training.
