I was playin normally last night...until I was booted (and as usual I just rebooted). When I got back into Eve I could sign in, load my char but I cant see anything on the screen. Its all black. But wait, it gets better.... I can interface with the screen, the icons, I can right click on things (and I get the right-click menu, which I can see... one of the only things I can see). I can change the name of my ship (and the entry window for that shows up) but the rest of the screen is black. Oh, and I have sound.
Emm, I'm in an Internet cafe, I tried more than one PC (including my Laptop) I have the specs but I highly doubt that specs have any influence on this problem. but if anyone needs them just ask. I have also re-installed Eve, and no luck. exactly the same thing.
Can anyone help me please!! Please!!!

Can you make a petition?
Otherwise goto the support section on this website and petition there. They should help you within 1 - 9999 hours.

Create a 'stuck' petition with another character. I had a similar experience, and had to wait till server reboot the next day to get it fixed. But perhaps the GMs can straighten it out for you right away.

I too have a couple of times when this has happened. The first time I deleted everthing, and I mean everything in my Eve cache folder and that did the trick. The next time I was not so lucky and had to file a stuck petition, I was free in about an hour.

I had this problem yesterday and again this morning. Yesterday I waited for a GM to move me, this morning I didnt want to wait again so started messing around, deleting my cache folder solved the problem.

A 'Stuck' petition will get you out, but as I found, the real problem might have to do with your cache.
I was having the same problem, but everytime I docked in a station. Finally, after 3 petitions 'unstuck me' I thought it might be my client. So I cleared my cache and haven't had a problem. Even if it wasn't my cache, it can't hurt to clear it.

I fixed this by undock and docking at another station (very tricky), but favorites and guesswork gets you there

File a suck petition on an alt character and pray the GMs get to it fast. Them moving you will usually clear up the problem unless you have something corrupt with your equipment or character.

guys i had this you can fix it quite easily. in your ccp folder there is a folder called chache now normally you can delete all this bar your pref.ini file and all works fine but this bug you need to delete that file as well. this means you will loose your display settings you configured so what res you wanted and so forth.
but if you do this and load back in with that guy it should all work fine. i have not been able to find what part in the pref file that makes this go wrong but that is the fix.
i have had to do this about 8 times since relaese each time it has fixed it for me. if you are a little worried just make a copy of the folder somwhere else.

Using 'Alt-Enter' will give you the menu sidebar so you can train your character and file a petititon without needing to log to an alt. You will still be 'stuck' however. You can also chat with your corp while you wait if you so choose.
