Hi I would like to say a big thank you to all who are participating in this north - south war thing. My sales in empire have gone through the roof and I (and many others) have scavanged a lot of nice loot!
So on behalf of the the cb's: Thank you!
 
One curious question though, what started all the mutual empire war decs and when will it end??

Why? : Boredom, Forum posturing, Sovereingty - depending which alliance / corp, each of those is a higher or lower factor. The main one .... its a game so why not?
When will it end? : When someone runs out of isk, gets bored or wants to do something else.

The Northern alliances have never liked the 5 and vic versa, ATUK went on holiday to PA space and fought them for a few weeks then returned home. PA and allies probably werent happy with the ATUK incursion and thinking that the 5 was weak from our fight with RA ,they declared on us to try and finish us off.
The war decs were made mutual so that no side could back down without surrendering and I guess it will go on for quite awhile as both sides seem to be having lots of fun

fighting is really gone, didn't see any smack so far and the opponnents are good :)
to bad carebears hang around to grab the looth.
I think it belongs to the party we got the kill to be honost.

why do it?
Cos it has made eve for what all of us wanted, a total PVP domain atm. Im glad to be fighting .5. / SA / -V- / and others, i dont care about wins or losses i just think all sides and all players are loving the total pvp sink atm.
Carebears stealing loot sucks, your time will come NPC Corpies!! Beware.

I agree - the stolen loot is the only thing (and bery seldomly hub system lag) that takes away from the most fun EVE has ever been for a huge huge part of players.

Can't blame you, actually. Locals have been looting battlefields since a few city-state kingdoms in the Middle East 10,000 years ago decided the marsh wasn't big enough for everyone. It's kinda low if it's your stuff being looted, but you're dead and that's the fortunes of war.

I have been thinking with all of these empire wars going on, I am sure that empire peeps do need to have their version of "empire wars". Why not have price wars and make things a big light for my purse. I would like to buy BSes, Cruisers, Frigates at really low prices, perhaps 30-50% off the current value.
Can it be done?

Almost poetic justice....carebares looting cans...would be better if the cans belonged to the ore thief that takes from the carebare...or the pirate that killed the miner...man, I can not wait to get back into the game. Sounds like a lot of fun going on. Just a couple more weeks to go.
