Since there was no vocal reaction from any affected users or an official response on my thread "Client download verification", I decided to take action myself.
This thread will be updated from time to time with the current client's md5 checksum and with those of patches as they come out.
Full EVE Client download (http://www.eve-online.com/download/) a912eca25870e519e41fb46b8513d98a EVE_3582.exe
-----
Verify your downloads with md5sum.
Usage (example uses directory d:\temp, replace with your own)
- save EVE_3582.exe in d:\temp
- Put md5sum.exe in the same directory
- copy the line with the hash and the filename (above) into a text file and save it as "eve_3582.md5" (again in the same directory)
- start a command line prompt (Start > Run > "cmd")
- change to the directory d:\temp
- run md5sum -c eve_3582.md5
If the download is correct, md5sum reports "EVE_3582.exe: OK". -----

I'm not updating this thread anymore because I switched to the german evepedia.
For current md5sums, check
md5sums for client and patches
.md5 files simplify the verification process (no copy-paste and creating files).
Put them in the same directory as the .exe to be verified and run "md5sum -c [Filename].md5". |

Since probably not everyone might be able to understand my German guide (see that thread) I decided to translate it to English (see first post in this thread).
P.S. I sincerely hope that this bump will not be accounted as an act of violence. Or something like that.. |
