I am told that if another player with a negative SEC level of < -5.0 is in ANY system, you can shoot them with NO action taken by the police and you will get NO SEC level hit.
Has anybody tried this? I would like sombody to confirm this before I take any action as I don't want to end up losing large amounts of SEC level or have Concord flying in to 'save' the PC pirate.
Also want to check that station guns and gate guns do NOT open up in this case.
Thanks

Damn you beat me for asking this because i seen 10+ people with a -1.0 sec. status... We should be able to kill them everywhere from -1.0... __________________________

You may only attack someone in high sec space wih no penalty if they have a negative rating greater than -5.0. Anything else and concord will still respond... although the flip side is that if they have more than a -5 rating they are probably also flying a halfway decent ship.

Edited by: Harakiri on 06/08/2003 17:24:40 Well it's supposed to be like that
-5.0 = free for all .. however securitylevels are pretty screwed right now
Some 0.0 space are bugged so you get sec-hits there anyway. 1.0 space isnt safe either because of another bug .. so its really messy now.
edit: Forgot to tell that even if target has -9 in seclevel you get seclevel hits for initiating combat *sigh*

So just to go over the posts then . . . .
If you shoot sombody in empire space (0.1 and above)
-5.0 SEC and below = free for all -4.9 SEC and above = You get a SEC hit
But if you get a SEC hit for initiating combat whatever the targets SEC level then this does not sound right to me, that kind of negates the free for all ability as Concord comes at the first sign of a SEC level hit in a 0.4 and above, right?
*Sigh* - I guess I will have to ask Polaris or somthing to be sure

Well, do you get a sec hit if they have a bounty on them? If not then u can add a bounty to them, kill them and get your bounty back.
