CCP has had to make some hard decisions. Between eating some crow, reducing staff, redirecting resources, and probably many changes we'll never hear about it - it's clear that they've become a company with a renewed purpose. That purpose being getting EVE back to where it needs to be both for the good of the company and the good of the game.
I read with indignation the 'leaked' letter, my reaction being 'by God, I'll show you what I'll "do"' and subsequently cancelling my accounts. Hell even the NEX is ok with me for things such as ship paint jobs and whatnot. I'd like the added ability to access such cosmetic features, and if the NEX provides that mechanism so be it.
CCP has done essentially everything right since this fiasco as far as I'm concerned - and as a result I'm back. Communication seems to be coming at a rapid pace, I'm liking what I'm reading in terms of small fixes and larger content coming with the Winter Expansion, and my interest in EVE is renewed.
I just wanted to take a moment and post - to say keep up the good work CCP  There's at least one capsuleer that appreciates the renewed effort currently being put into Eve Online - no strings attached. |

I agree. Someone above accused the OP of being easily mollified and perhaps we are. But the letter from Hillmar seemed heartfelt and showed a great deal of humility. The communication has certainly stepped up and the renewed focus seems real. The layoffs were a bummer to be sure but numbers be numbers and business is business.
I hope they stick with it, we're the ones with the final say anyway. If it turns out to be a all talk then we can simply walk away anyway. I don't know about you guys but I've walked away from MMO's that I've been heavily vested in before in the past and I can tell you first hand it's a liberating feeling. You almost don't know what to do with all the free time you suddenly have.
In the end we can always vote with our feet. |
