How do you activate it? What good is it? I have some ideas already, but I'd like to hear from several more people in the know.
Also, if you are operating at battle speed towards a jump gate, say, how do you close on your target without losing battlespeed?

Um.... I think somewhere along the line you got confused as to what the different termonology of fleet warfare means. ---

Are you playing a different game?
What do you mean by battle speed?

I *think* you're referring to "being aligned and at speed". What this means is that your ship is pointed directly at the place you'll be warping to and is moving at least 75% of its maximum speed. This means you get into warp instanteously when you click "warp to" or your gang leader warps you, without any time spent accelerating to speed or turning your ship. This can be vital to successful PvP ops. -Wrayeth

The game needs an "align to" command. In this, you would select any object in the overview or in space, just as you can now with ships/can/planets/roids, etc etc, and it would simply turn your ship toward that point without moving forward.
You can't tell me advanced spacecraft such as those in Eve don't have attitude thrusters.

The key is to be aligned and moving.

Not reallyneeded. If you are at a full stop it takes about 0.0 seconds to turn any direction. And being aligned for something but not moving does nothing to hel pyou warp to that point faster. How about just dbl click right on/1mm above the planet/belt/moon so your ship faces it and starts moving forward? Or if for some strange reason you dont want to move forward, dbl click then press stop. There. You are "aligned." Do not need to a new button to do it.
