Depends on who it's for, it's just for yourself and not for say a child i'd suggest the Sony PSP due to it's features and the games.

it's for me. and eve players often have similar thoughts about games, so wanted to see you're opinions.
I'm mostly interested in graphics and the game it self

I have the DS (bought it when it came out) and just now, a couple real good games came out for it, Advance Wars and castlevina :)
Thw PSP looks to be a real good system (based on de games, like Death Jr. I really want to play that one, and GTA:LCS, MGS) --- murder murder, yes indeed, K-I-L-L-I-N-G YARrrr!! ---

PSP. I'm not knocking the DS, as i'm sure it's really good for what it is, but the PSP really is in another league. It's also slightly more adult tbh (due to the... limits of the DS' screen, most of the games are kinda basic/childish (and yes i know the 'advance wars' series are really surprising complex - i have advance wars 2 myself)), and the PSP's just seem more proffessional to me.
The PSP also has countless features, and who knows what kinda crazy stuff is gonna come with all the upgrades... what with all this WiFi whatnot.
So... yeah, i'd say get a PSP. ---------------

Well i own a nintendo ds but im also thinking of buying a psp, when you consider value for money and originality then you should go for the DS, the DS touch screen is a breath of fresh air gaming wise and its also a lot easier on the hands as i find the psp a bit to bulky, now for the price: i paid ú120 for a brand new DS and 3 brand new games, the psp aprox ú190 with no games, makes sense to get the DS dont you think? ideally you should buy a DS then maybe get a psp when they become a bit more cheaper plus a lot more games.

They're totally different.
IMO, if you want the DS, just get the Gameboy Advance--similar capability, cheaper, smaller, and no useless second screen.
The PSP is much more expensive and a lot more like a portable PS2 (or maybe PS1.5). High quality, albeit very expensive games. - Proud member of the [23].

The PSP is more than just a portable games console, the possibilities are staggering. As it stands, you can play music, watch movies, and surf the web with it. Depending on how much effort Sony puts into it (or the ingenuity of the public) the sky's the limit with this thing.
Who knows, maybe someday we'll be able to play Eve on it :)

I have both and I'm going to have to go with the PSP on this one, even though I'll be the first to admit there are not very many good games for EIGHTER.
