I hate to say it guys. I dont rember where I read this, but I read a article that said something along the lines of. "The investers have already given CCP enough isk to build expansion." and "CCP is NOT in the process of makeing the expansion because they are working on the actual game!"
anyways. this game aint ding. it's like AO. When it released, it was buggy. it was crappy. who would have wanted to play it. it has shaped up, and it is probibally the MOST unique MMORPG on the market, asides from EVE. wich is totally unique in it's own ways. -rei _________________________ Trolling is bad. The original poster has a very good point. It would make a lot of difference if we knew what was going on.
I love this game, and it has SO much potential - but the bugs are driving me nuts and frustrating my gameplay. It's not even a small amount of nagging bugs - it's large amounts fundemental, and sometimes gamestopping ones. For me the worst is the market orders bug (being defended stupidily as a feature) which makes things very difficult for me to enjoy the game.
I wouldn't mind so much if I had an idea of what the hell was going on in game development or bug fixes - but it's all quiet.
Oh - anbd the crash to desktop is such a pain in the ass right now ;)

Just a note regarding price drops.
Almost every MMORPG on the market is dropping in price, with some exceptions. Gold Editions typically are normal priced games since you're getting all the expansions and whatnot, and moneygrubbers like LucasArts will probably keep SWG at max price forever. However pretty much anyone else has dropped theirs to around 15 or 20 bucks. It's not just EVE.

Actually if you look at alot of the newer games they dont charge for the software because they make it up though the monthly account.
Actually when I first heard of eve I was amazed that they were charging for the game instead of haveing the game as a free download like all the others I had paid to play for the last 5 years.
So dropping the price of the software is no biggie.

So in conclusion: Bugs we can handle. CCP you'd be suprised just how many bugs the playerbase can put up with PROVIDING you acknowledge players concerns. You must verify that the communication chain is complete and the devs are at least aware of the players gaming experience.
Petitions are all well and good but this is about communication to the player community, not the individual. This website is the devs most powerful communication tool and it needs to be more proactively employed by them or their reps.
To not do so, in the belief that it would be bad advertising PR, would merely betray a lack of foresight.

MMORPG's make their money from subscription fees. The actual price of the box at retail is not going to cover the cost of producing this type of game (unless it sold in Diablo 11 numbers).
45-49k of subscribers 3 months after launch has to be considered quite successful. That is ifthese numbers are active accounts. Most users will quit MMORPG's after the first month.
Its the revenue stream which is important here.

(waves goodbye to killer)
killer has gone i know he was in my corp.
he was a core player like a lot in my corp.we have played a lot.
to be honest, and most people im sure will agree with this, at the moment the game does grow stale the more you play.
weekly plot-
mine until you get bored of that.
fight npc, until you get bored of that.
fight pvp- well chase some around, let them chase you around- mostly people escape unhurt, until you get bored of that.
then mine again,
fight again
etc
etc
people who play this often enough will recognise this.
what is there to aim for ?- better equipment and ships?, you get them then what?
can anyone answer this question?

Quote: Not at all - although generally speaking - people who take the time to post on game boards like this one "tend" to be the more hardcore players - although obviously this is not always the case.
No offence meant, everyones views are important - its just that this board is the main point of contact for the dev team....
Actually this board is NOT the main point of contact for the DEV team. Polaris team members that are forum mods frequent this board, but with the possible exception of very senior members they are not employees of CCP. Any DEV team member that frequents this board is doing so of their own volition, not in an official capacity. If you want the DEVs to see your message, better to send in a petition so it at least gets bumped up from polaris to a GM (hopefully).
