Now, dont get me wrong, I love EVE. Its everything that I had ever hoped for in a game and more. However, there are some things that need to be addressed in the upcoming patch, before ANYTHING else is applied to the game. I will try and list them all here to make it easier...if you know of any others...please add your comments...but NO FLAMMING!
1) There is a major leak in the game that munches up all of a systems resources. I have noticed that this is more severe in certain areas and less severe in other areas. This is the first priority.
2) There are some major stability issues with certain aspects and areas of the game. These need to be cleared up before people begin to leave due to loss of in game property due to fault and bugs.
3) Server stability is also in question. It needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb to make sure that one node in the cluster is not letting everything else down. The cluster is supposed to be fault tollerant, but I see no evidence of such.
Before any content is added, the basic game play and bug issues HAVE to be resolved first. This is the biggest mistake any MMORPG can make. Putting content ahead of Bug fixes is a killing blow to a MMOG from which they rarely to never recover. Please dont let Eve become one of "those" games. _______________________________________________

The recent CTDs and crashes aside, I'd rather have content first. I look at the market, theres nothing to trade, all the player demanded goods arent allowed to be put on the market. I look at my agent, gee, yet another good for nothing back and forth get this and that for peanuts. I look at a roid and just turn green. Pirate hunting is fun, a week of it might make doing agent missions bareable, after which I might feel like pirate hunting again.
Yes, fix the CTDs, but I'd rather they fix the basic game mechanics right after on the already existing features so they work as intended. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Bagdarass, I agree completely with you. Content is worthless if the game is unstable. I can't grasp how the developers can see it any other way. *boggle* What does it matter if they add a new widget to the game if nobody is playing it due to server disconnects (which I've been getting a LOT of lately)? Also, that memory leak needs to be hunted down and killed. I only see it if I make a lot of jumps. If I just sit in one spot mining all night I am fine. ------------------------------------------------ "The best defense is a dead opponent." - Avaton White

CCP needs to get on this CTD issues and the issues where u lag when 10-12 ships or more r in battle. These in my mind are huge and if they dont get these fixed (should have been in beta) they can start kissing customers goodbye.

OKay..content is good, but if you add content to buggy code, despite your best intentions in doing so, you run the risk of causing even more probelms and unhappy customers. Im sure if they put Titans in tomorrow and they didt work right because they were patched into a peice of code that had a bug in it...many people would complain.
That is why CCP need to do some serious debugging. Even if it means bringing the server down to do it for an hour longer everyday. So long as there is a VISIBLE improvement to the gameplay issues now plauging the game, Im sure people would be happy. _______________________________________________

The things I don't understand are the bugs that are reported as fixed but actually are not. Like the mining lasers shooting off into space. Mining lasers not being visible to people that warp in unless they are turned off and back on. etc. etc. Many times I've asked about bugs in the help channel only to be told it was fixed and is no longer an issue. Er... It's an issue if I can see it happening in front of my eyes and it's obviously not fixed... ------------------------------------------------ "The best defense is a dead opponent." - Avaton White
