Alliance politics 101
1) People in 0.0 think shooting things is fun, regardless of whether they shoot back. Even if its a completely unbalanced fight, trying to kill the ship before it escapes is challenge enough. This stops pvp'ers from getting bored in the often long spaces in between enjagements.
2) See "Noob Alt Spy" argument.
3) Anyone who ventures into 0.0 does so at there own risk, if you go there without proper ships/experience/instas then prepare to die horribley and very quickly.
Oh yes, one last thing. You only lost a noob ship. you get those for free. Or don't tell me, you had actual good modules that you can't live without fitted on to it  . Well in that case I can't help you and I don't think you will get very far in EVE with that kind of planning.
