All right, I'm not particularly mad at CCP, or even making this thread out of spite, but I'd much like to discuss the problem with the name "joseph stalin" for use in EVE.
It was not just some random result of a drunken night, this was a roleplay character (thus the choice of naming my corporation 'The Communist Block,' and incase you're wondering how I roleplayed stalin, he was a clone brought back by fanatics.)
Now, I know that CCP says that no *hate* groups could be represented in the form of names, quoting, "suggest an affiliation with a real-life hate group or figurehead," but I stand my ground that Stalin was in no way the leader of any hate group, he may have killed many people in his purges, but he did not discriminate those he killed based on any of the standard characteristics, simply those against him.
Now, you may say that within the quote they are saying affiliation to either a hate group, or any figurehead... but if this were true, we'd have a lot of names to sort out, so I don't see why I'm getting picked on here CCP!

But not to toss gas in the fire, but need I bring up names like Vladimir Lenin being used for over a year.

perhaps it would be better to call yourself Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, Stalin's real name?

Maybe it might have something to do with the fact he Joseph Stalin murdered around 20,000,000 people when he ruled the Soviet Union?
And whats with the hammer and sickle? its ok to have that but not a swastika cause?  |
