I was just wondering - we had several ship losses due to system-instabilities and unclear definitions of "what-is-allowed-and-what-no" like gangs.
Yeah, you guessed right: we got nothing refunded. Not even 1 ISK
Any of you with same or similar experiences? ***********************************************

Im afraid I have had a similar experience, lost a ship due to a bug and when I contacted a GM I was basically told tough luck. The thing that added insult to injury was that there was an offical post on the forum not long after claiming they would replace ships lost due to bugs. "Death Before Dishonor" |

Yeah, this has happened to one of my friends before and unfortunately he stopped playing Eve because of it. It almost happened to me over the weekend. My computer rebooted twice in the middle of battling NPC pirates over the weekend. I think it would be nearly impossible for them to refund anyone for a lost ship due to a reboot or CTD due the complexity of the issue. For example, how do you differentiate between someone who honestly lost a ship due to a reboot/ctd and someone who is just scamming to get a free ship. Either way it does suck and I feel bad that it even happens. All we can do is suck it up and hope that CCP will fix the reboot/ctd bug soon. Cheers.

CCP has ordered all GMs to NOT give anything back to players no matter WHAT. The best thing i got back was +0.3 sec status :/ but that was an obvious bug. -

CCP have to be able to reproduce the bug you encounted where you encounted it, if they cant you wont get what ever you lost back if they replaced peoples stuff with no questions asked everyone would claim they lost stuff to a bug they never had in the 1st place.
CCP do indeed replace lost ships and other stuff if they can verify you are not lieing.

One in our corp got his armageddon replaced after losing it in a fight with pirates who used a sensor damper to CTD him and the grid exploit so he couldnt see it happening... does that count?

Haven't seen anyone whining on here. Just a bunch of people relaying there experiences with CCP.
I don't see why CCP have to be able to reproduce a bug before handing stuff over.
A quick glance at the logs will indicate whether someone has lost a ship or not. If there not gaining anything what's the problem? ----------------------------------------- Don't jump off the roof dad. You'll make a hole in the yard. ----------------------------------------- |

Well - the whole issue was described here be4.
Anyway ... this uncertain issue was a gang/gang-defense question: a PC-crazy attacked our mining-gang. After he attacked several gang-members and destroyed one (in a frig) I attacked and got destroyed by CONCORD for it was sec 0.5. This was just some days after I read about gang-functionality.
However - I talked to a GM and he said if I¦m in a gang I can defend gang-mates against an agressor. Told him I was and he should plz check this with his tools and he then told me his tool are not sofisticated enought to get prove. WHAT THE F*CK
and jep, my maller was not replaced nor did i recieve cash nor got my sec rating the +0.2 I lost due to this incident.
edit: Whining? why? Its the simple odd question who suffered the same and who not? wanna find out the principles of refunding-filosophy here.

Lost a ship and rare modules due to an obvious bug.
And I got 2 things from CCP: a reply saying that if I can't stand the fight, I must stay in secure space.
I also got a "funny" joke 2 CSMs ago. _______________________________________________

Bottom line the game is the way it is. Either what till things are fixed or leave.
I know things are bugged and I may risk my ship to those bugs. I will wait.
You don't have to. I would prefer you leave so I 1. don't see more of these posts. (How many times do you have to beat a dead horse on what is wrong with the game. Post you bug in the bug forum and move along) 2. Less peoples means less server lag.
You can keep your stuff you probably Whinned all over it.

I was attacked by some very very very wicked meenies... so I started a petition. It was obvious these meenies were using the infamous grid exploit, because I know I am better than anyone else who plays eve. There is no way I could have been killed. I have like a ba-gillion skill points. So CCP said, "You are right Jericho, you are the best player in the EvE Universe"... "Let us replace your Battle Ship an 2x value and post an exploit warning".
I responded back... "I am glad you all are keeping the players in line. I am proud to know that submitting petitions works". The best thing about it, they responded to my petition in 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
So this warning is issued to you meenies, I will post more petitions if I don't get my way...

Corp mate and I were hunting pirates, when suddenly he dissapeared and was "transported" to empty space where invisible pirates attacked him, in other words, the grid bug.
CCP told him in general to "suck it up", he demanded that his stuff should be returned because he had screenshots of the whole thing and screenshots of us saying "where are you.. why did u just dissapear there?" etc etc..
So, they did end up giving him back his Thorax, and all the stuff that was equipped and in his hold..
So if you ever get caught in some strange bug (except for ctds) take as many screenshots as you can. _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

That's very interesting. SI members have lost 5 ships to this sensor dampener BUG as far as I remember. All have been petitioned, no reimbursement.
I guess the grid exploit was the reimbursement argument here. ---

NTRabbit: Every n00b that looses his ship starts screaming EXPLOIT EXPLOIT EXPLOIT! Sad really, but i know some people that actually can tell the difference between an exploit/bug and a situation which is completely their own fault. -

Seems its a good way to do screenies
Logserver? I¦m not a tester but possibly I should run this thing again
And? Does it depend on the mood of the GM to get back one¦s lost equipment/ship (lost due to bug/exploit, not due to stupidity of the player ;)???
I¦d like to get some CLEAR words, some statement HOW TO act in such situations. Thats all. ***********************************************

The game has trillions bugs, a lot of them on the client side.
If you lose a ship to a client side bug you will have to deal with clueless GMs (I call them CGMs from now on) which can't reimburse you because you could be a liar and they can't track the problem on the server. Of course not! It is also the bugged client!
Yesterday my client was showing a 200% shield while it was much lower on the server e.g., I even made a picture of it. Everytime something unusual happens I try to make a picture, because it could help the CMGs to understand, that the game is really broken and you should be reimbursed. But even if I manage to make one they will find a way to post sensless crap in their petitions.
I think it is a sport of the CGMs to try not to reimburse anyone. Their are sitting on their CGM-wheels laughing their arses off if you once again stop to ask for a reimbursement because you gave it up to get dozens of contradictory responses from diffrent CGMs.
Many people already stopped playing because the GMs do not understand the game at all, don't reimburse people who deserve it and others are going to follow. Just read the various posts in the last month in the forum here.
And this is really really sad. ---

just wondering did anyone ever lose a ship to the cap bug?
could the dev's check? because i know o lost a ship and im more then sure there was bug... but i didnt report it i just said oh well that sucks this game has its problems... and etc... lost some good guns and nice cargo exander etc... rare one of course
it sucks because i know i was taking a risk but i know that i should have no problem taking that risk...
if im not mistaken the cap bug happens mostly when you run out of cap and wait and regen the cap a few % and try to use your items etc and it says that you cant you need more cap etc...
its sad really.
the thing i want to know and eveyrone shoudl know is the abilities of the GM's what they could see and what they cant.... like other ppl said if you have a CTD well that really sucks cant really prove that.. but if its a bug i sure want to know if the GM's can track that on the server or something?
i should have tried to take some SS maybe that would have helped support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

I had a CTD-shiploss as well. After several back and forths I got no compensation and an "explaination" of how if they were teo replace ships that were lost in such circumstances it would leave it wide open for abusment. Personally I find this not acceptable. After all, we're spending time gathering enough stuff to get a ship which we then lose due to instability of the game. It ****es me off!

I've actually had two ships replaced, both were lost to bugs in the first place.
The first one must have had something to do with the station I was at, when I'd undock it'd only show me in my pod...I'd go back to the station to see if it was a graphic bug and it takes the same actions as if you had lost your ship (insurance compensation, etc). I did it a few times with the Rookieships I had to see if I could repeat it. I think I had the original ship replaced and I was moved away from the station. I haven't had a problem that severe since.
The other one was replaced after they made the autopilot changes. I was stuck in a jump/warp loop at one of the jumpgates, unfortunately this one had pirates. The client would go through the jumping animations only to be interrupted by "You cannot navigate while in warp" starting the cycle over again. I wrote a petition while I listened to the cycle around 30 times, by the time it was finally answered the shield, armor, and hull were breached. My ship was essentially held in one position despite not even showing up on the screen.
Both ships replaced were only Probes, but it's not the ship cost that matters, it's the fact that it shouldn't have been lost in the first place.
Unfortunately I lost a Cruiser last Sunday to the offline modules/cap bug and that one was not replaced. I'm so careful now that every time I log in now, I reomve and reinstall all modules on my ship. When I forget to do it again, I know I'll see the "white ring of death" in my cap bank again.

A quick glance at the logs will indicate whether someone has lost a ship or not. If there not gaining anything what's the problem?
Unfortuntaly some rotten apples would then be able to get new ships by making up stories about bugs.
The policy is, I believe, that they must indeed be able to verify that the loss of property was because of a bug.

Mandos - thx for reply!
Of course one can¦t believe all the stories, one has to PROVE.
Funny thing though, when a GM tells me he doesnt have the MEANS to prove my story right or wrong!
Thats what goes wrong here! ***********************************************
