I'm looking for the narrow escapes, the eyes of the needles and such! I am looking for in-game stories about how the downtime affected your game, how you adapted, how you overcame.
An example... when the socket errors started, we were taking out (anchored, but offline) offensive modules on a hostile POS. We were in kind of a pickle because the connection issues started when we were halfway through the modules, meaning that if the owner of that Viator inside logged in before we did, he could online the remaining mods and setup a rapecage for us. We franticly tried to log in, and as this was just the first set of connection issues we managed to do so, and stay online long enough to see the tower go into reinforcement: only 13 hours!
Alas our stalking of the reinforced tower got interrupted by this long downtime. That means new modules could be anchored and reps could have taken place. When Tranquility was back online, I found myself at work and requested a system sitrep through Eve mail during my lunchbreak. It seems our new visitors had managed to anchor a few more guns in our absense and were repping the pos. I also recied a KM with an Osprey on it, with my friend chuckling the POS guns are either empty, offline or configured not to shoot.
So it seems we have a tenacious bunch of newbies in our lowsec system not willing to let us, some easy kills, or extremely long unexpected downtimes deter them from their objectives. These guys have more balls then the corp that decced us a few weeks ago and I am curious to see how long they will remain, and if eventually they will bring the gudfites!
Well that's my story about the downtime having an effect on the emergent gameplay. I'm curious about yours and if there are any cool stories about narrow escapes or tactics that involved the downtime. Please post constructively! There are dedicated topics for any praise / hate you wish to throw at CCP, I want to hear your in-game stories! |

Petition for a Minimum bounty of 10 mil. Prevent useless bounties!

I left Eve 2 years agao because all the socket disconnect errors prevented me from flying expensive toys.
Yesterday I reactivate my account (after watching the new release trailer) and encounter 32 hours of downtime. 
I guess it is the dev's way of saying welcome back. |

It was alright, it just didn't feel like Bioshock to me though. There was no feeling of being trapped also no splicers! :(
