any1 know how far u have to be from target eg gate or station to aviod sentry fire? or if u hve to be a certain distance from the sentrys themselves, asap replies would be greaty appreciated.

sentries have a range of 150km. You need to be that far from both of them, not the gate.

lies. you need to be more than 150km from the gate. dont worry about the distance you are from the sentries. as long as your 150km+ from gate you will be fine.

yep, from the gate not the guns.... gets tricky when you ctd and warp back 15km closer though, a o'*hit moment for sure

The Range on Sentries is 150k So u need to be 150k Plus away from the Sentries not from the gate. 150k from gate = Death as you will be in range of one of the Guns.
And Sniping out of Gate range is lame.

lol you have no clue. 150km from the gate end of story. i'm not tryin to get anyone killed. if you dont believe me fine. sit at like 200km from the gate, and have fun hittin very little

No you are very wrong. Sentries can hit you at 200km easy -- but 'commiting crime' 150km from a GATE is safe, even if you're 500m from the guns.
Sniping out of gate range isn't lame either. Well, I mean it's not like "OMGZOR IM THE BEST PVPER EVER!#@"
But there's nothing wrong with it, it's just business.

Hmmm, Sound interesting this.
There seems to be confusion now.
Is it Aggression in range of the Gun or Gate ? Cos When ever I've been under 150k of a gun It seems to open fire. Not that I've tried it in a while.

I once soloed a bs from 150km - i had to follow it to the station and it had no mods fitted so i didnt make anything out of it but it was fun.Anyone ever done that in their long range gate camping?

i got a dom a while back got him on the way out the gate. was shiled tanked...can't say it was a good one though.
also snagged a mega at a station after entering the system i for get what kinda tank he had aagain had to have been minor.
Edit; to keep on topic just to be safe keep 150k away from the gate is the rule but on first aggression they can hit you at any range closer than 150 from the guns...also depends on regions sretain gats are larger than others so you might be closer to the guns etc...just keep in mind eve has its moments and its bugs and every once in a while the unlucky sniper will be the lesser because of it.
so be smart test the gates you'll be working at before you set up your T2 apoc or temp.

Don't forget about CONCORD billboards. They conceal sentry guns, and you must be more than 150km away from them as well as the normal sentry guns.

When I make a sniper point at gate I dont spend ages lining up so sentry are equal distance and 150km from me. In fact 150km is abit borderline so I get exactly 155km from gate. Sometimes the sentry guns are like 110 and 180..... works fine as it makes no odds how far they are.

You have to be 150km from both guns and atleast 220km from the gate plus 235km from the billboard else concord will spot you and send in a gank fleet.

You have to be far enough from the gate so that its no longer visible, then with your 6 scorpion wingmen, you need named commander tracking comps and voodoo magic to ensure WTFPWN wrecking shots from uber distance. They'll never know what hit em!!! |

150k from gate and billboard, don't worry about the sentries. ppl often forget the billboard which is more often than not 1k or so closer than the gate.
anyone have 6 scorpion pilots to be my wingmen, i wannan kill at 450k even if it's just 1 time.

I've soloed dozens of pvp fitted battleships with sentries on my raven, does that count?
