While I don't disagree that gamer culture is incredibly misogynistic, you're basically lying about what has been said in this thread so far. Actually I believe that was said in direct reference to a comment which was judging women on their appearance alone.

Also you have no idea how I treat my girl or anything else really, she is a bit submissive but I make sure we are 50/50 when it comes to opinions, decisions, and so on. The issue with the, "We don't care she's a girl! We care that her opinions suck!" line is that many of those responses to her opinions, experiences, etc, are colored by her gender. Women in the gaming space are frequently subjected to mansplaining, belittling, and assumptions of incompetence or inadequacy in the gaming world due to their presumed lack of ability or experience in geekdom. Were Mintchip male, I very much doubt we'd have anything near this much discussion of the hiring.
Wonder why EVE is 96% male?
