Hello and good day EvE. As the topic says i need a Zealot setup for 0.0 npc hunting. That can take out good npc's, i have most fitting skills at lvl 5 so that wont be a prob.
My current setup is
=HIGH= 4x Heavy pulse laser II, 1x med nos
=MID= 1x 10mn afterburner II 2x webbers(to get those damn friggs)
=LOW= 1x Medium armor rep II 5x Heat sink II 1x Power diagnostic system II
And i carry around 4x Multispec 4x Ultraviolet 4x Radio. Im not just looking to modify my setup, im also looking for a new setup to use. So plz tell me a good setup to use. thx

Take out 2 heat sinks and replace with:
- Kinetic + Thermic hardener IIs for Guristas and Serpentis - Thermic + EM hardener IIs for Sanshas and Blood
Probably need all hardener types (bar explosive) for Angels.
Also your cap will collapse running everything unless you have 2 relays. Or 1 relay and 1 cap charger II and so on. Shouldn't need that PDU II, waste of cap recharge.

Toss one webber, make the other a Fleeting (90%) and put on a cap II. - Proud member of the [23].

I love my Zealot, but I think my tanked Apoc with similar fitting (large guns, some smalls for intys, sinks, chargers, hardners, etc) would work better. I don't know how the Zealot would exceed here.

Apoc is much worse against 0.0 npcs than Zealot. 0.0 BS's large guns dont hit orbiting Zealot. And their missiles do only low damage because of the small sig radius of a HAC. Dangerous are only the webbing frigates. Thats why I fit dual web and kill them first and quick. I use to kill Angels with Zealot: 4x heavy pulse II, 1x medium diminishing nos, 1x 10mn ABII, 2x Webber, 1x medium armor repper II, 1x em hardner II, 1x thermal hardener II, 2x heat sink II, 2x cap power relay. Works like a charme.

The Zealot sucks ass against anything not susceptible to EM or Thermal or both. So if you're not killin Serps or Sansha/Bloods, don't bother. Its DPS simply is not high enough to kill the bs's efficiently with the huge resists. -------------------------------------------- "A plan is just a list of things that don't happen." -- Parker, _The Way of the Gun_

The apoc is brilliant for hunting. I currently hunt angels with it and it does exactly what i need. Fitting at the moment is-
High - 7 TII megapulse Medium - 4 cap recharger IIs Low - 2 large TII reps, 3 TII hardeners (explosive kinetic thermal) and 2 power relays
Drone bay - 6 wasps, though im gonna try out having 10 medium TII drones and 2 ogres soon. Cargo hold - 7 multispecs 7 xray 7 radio
the tank will hold out against almost anything, ive tanked all sorts of large BS spawns witht his. The guns will hit battleships and the crystals mean you can get good hits on any distance orbiting BS. I use the wasps to take out any drones that scramble me, or assist with any annoying battleships.

i beg to differ. i used my zealot for gurista hunting and was easily tanking dread spawns with no problems while killing them. dual web is very good for taking care of the pesky webbing/scrambling frigates. the zealot can munch on guristas all day long and still smile.
make a scout bookmark at long range for each belt in the system you will hunt in. then warp to those and make up your attack strategy for the specific spawn there.

On the contrary, it is very good against just about anything accept Angels, it really can strugle there due to their resistances but it still gets the job done, certainly not going to do anyworse than an apoc ...if you use it right anyway. And lets not forget the Zealot's own resistances are best suited to tanking Angels, so it can take a little longer to get the job done without the ship coming under too much threat (from the npcs at least).
Guristas and Serps go down almost as easily as Sanshas and Bloods do, infact it is offten easier to fight Guristas purely because their bs's can't do very much damage to you with their missiles/torps. All you need to worry about if you are making a direct approach is the rail guns and they don't usually carry enough of them to do too much damage. |
