any ideas would be greatly recieved. im atm setting it up like a normal thorax but was wondering is anyone had a good setup they would like to share.

Don't ignore the great bonus you get to medium turrets on the vigilant by fitting smaller blasters. Also not fitting a MWD will really gimp another of the ships bonus. With Minmatar cruiser 4 you get more cap with a MWD then without.
High: 5 medium electron blasters
Mid: Named MWD
Web
cap chargers or cap battery
target disruptor
Low: Med. Repairer 2
armor hardners x2
damage mods in the rest of the slots.
Hopefully when the MK2 changes take place the vigilant gets a big boost to it's powergrid and we can fit better weapons in the high slots.

wait for the mk2 bonus to come in then you can fit bigger guns.
for now use the thorax its better

Agreed right now the thorax is much better. After the patch, and if the vigilant gets a suitable bonus it will be better then the thorax.
Who knows what will become of drones that could make or break both ships. Right now the Vigilant has a tiny almost unusable dronebay.

i see a mk2 blueprint on the database. any official word on whether all mk1 Vigilant's are simply going to be specced-up and turned into mk2's, or is the mk2 a totally independent ship?

Ye the grid really sucks atm, think i fitted 5 med ions(named). cant remember off the top of my head. But had to reallt gimp the rest of the ship to make it fit.
Wouldnt a warp disruptor or scrambler be more use than a target disruptor?
Was also thinking of putting a ECm module in the extra mid slot, but not sure what would be best
