I have noticed a few things I don't understand about eve but would like to hear what people say... about this...
The Ship types and there use seems wrong to me..
Frigates - These are nearly correct but these should be highly suited to mining more than cruisers/battleships... to make people use them more.
Industrial - These are the only ships I feel in the game are correctly suited as they are for what they are.. trading ships, large cargo ships..
Cruisers - these should be part miner or all out fighter crafts not big miners as this dilutes what they are and make firgates useless.
Battleships - now these should have no mining ability what so ever these are battleships they are for battle... you don't see naval battleships out at sea being used as fishing ships do you...
Or am I just not making sense ???

I agree. Battleships should have an inability to mount mining laser turrets, as should most cruisers (except mining cruisers).

IMHO, pre-determining the usage of a particular class of ship would limit players ability to create unique combinations of ships and "dumb down" the game.
There is sufficient flexibility at the moment to make any ship of any class a fighter or miner, and making the best choices is an aspect of interest and competition in the game.
Ever come across a cruiser blockading that was only setup for mining? Or what about that frigate threatening a bestower mounted with serious gunnery and an energy drainer? Or someone in a probe with lvl 5 mechanic skills and shield ops who turns out to be a fighter?

playing with settings is a great part of the game - and "degrading" it wonŠt do good in any way.
Only the actually low variety of vessels for each race should be raised, I think - or what about a possibility to add slots by a new skill / preference ?
just my 2 pennies on it.

Ppl mining in BS is sad ? Why is that ? Because a megathron with 4 harvesters and a lazy lvl3 mining can pull more than 20K of omber per hour ? _______________________________________________

edit: damn my reading comprehension.... :s
how's this when compared to efficiency of lower level mining ships? (price of equipment, amount of ore per hour etc...)

I guess I don't care enough about
a) mining b) acquiring pots of ISK
to appreciate the relative merits of mining in a ship built for warfare.
I look forward to continuing to wipe out swarms of bs miners.

Personaly I would agree on the mining bit, mininglasers should not be turret hardpoints, they should have their own hardpoints.
that way there could come in indys that can actually defend themselves against small npc pirates, they could be given 2 or even 3 high power slots that can actually be used for weapons but as they have only 1 mining laser hardpoint they would still not be good at mining.
Doing that there could be introduced both mining cruisers and mining battleships with a high number of laser hardpoints, not as good as the ones build more for battle but clearly having an edge of their own.
