Edited by: Fighterpilotjp on 08/11/2005 00:55:11 Hello guys, I just checked the Nintendo WiFi Connection website, and I checked their list of tested compatible wireless routers for the Dell Truemobile 2300, and it was not on the list. The Nintendo DS uses 802.11b and 802.11g signals, which the router I have does put out. Does anyone with more insight than myself know if I should be able to use this router to connect to the Nintendo WiFi network, or what would make it different from the ones on the compatibility list? I've used it successfully with computers on the network at my home, and even on the other side of the house, downstairs behind many barriers I can still get a signal that's speedy enough for web surfing, so I know the router is functioning properly. Compatibility is all I'm worried about.
I hesitated to post this on the Nintendo Community forums first, because the average mental capacity and maturity there seems to be exceptionally low. |

AFAIK the DS doesn't support WPA encryption, only WEP.
Might be that your router is too secure for the DS

Is it possible that WPA is disabled when I first start up the router? I put it on the network simply by plugging it into our Netgear RP114 (which now that I think about it, I should probably check as well) and using it as an access point. |

I'm trying to log into the Truemobile 2300 now, but I can't seem to get it. I disconnected my computer from the RP114, which is receiving the signal from our DSL modem, and connected it only to the wireless which is off of the network. But when I use the IP addresses to try and connect to it (such as 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1) I get nothing. I really just want to make sure there is no security on it, since the RP114 handles all of that, and it's not like anybody in this area is going to get to our connection anyway. |
