Ok... so I'm flying my little ship around a quiet corner of the universe, and have a vague recollection that there is a fight on between The Five and someone in the north... so I see a Freighter, being flown by a character in an NPC corp (obviously) but has the bio: (5). So I figure, he's an alt of someone in The Five...
In a war, do people pay for information like this? Is it worth anything since the freighter is in an NPC corp and in Empire space?
Not that I would, since I enjoy my PvE and don't want any unnecessary Wardecs interferring with that.
But I'm just curious as to what extent people will go to further their cause in their war.

Edited by: Karmae on 08/11/2005 21:07:03 well I dunno if peeps would pay for that kind of intel, who knows.
I guess it sounds like 5 needed some stuff moved without the threat of having it blown up in the wars... ==================== There is 10 types of people in this world... Those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Writing 5 in your bio doesn't mean much, I could do the same and try to get past a 5 fleet. Take a guess how long I'd last

If the character is in an NPC corp flying in empire, anyone attacking it would be concord'docken'd. So your information would be mostly useless.

If it were an alt-of-enemy freighter, they'd maybe consider it worth paying to declare war and go gank him. But I doubt they'd consider having (5) in his bio as sufficient proof of anything to take action upon it.
Worth a try though. All they can do is laugh pityingly at you and make you feel pathetic

Many Freighter alts are already known.
I know for a fact a KIA alt was shot down in his Freighter even tho he was in a n00b corp, so if it's really a [.5.] alt (confirmed) then yes that info might be worth some isk to an enemy of them.
Especially if you can provide intel on where that alt travels IF (and only if) it inclused low-sec space, which is unlikely. But sure worth a shot IMO.

Edited by: Plun Kett on 09/11/2005 07:17:25 As a kinda extension to the original question, do u guys think their would be a market for information about corps and their members. For instance if u were thinking about decalring war on a corp and needed to know their members and office locations would you be willing to pay for member names etc.
Say 100K isk per member name in smallish corps and 20K per member name in large corps. Also maybe a service which provides the location of players thru Locator Agents..........
Any thought suggestions welcome.

There is absolutely a market for this if you do it good. Many handles this in-house for a couple of reasons.

Yeah, i realise this kind of service would not really be attractable to larger alliances but i was thinking of small to medium sze corps who are often overlooked when people see what wars are occuring.
Many thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
