hmmmm don't know about that one. Maybe they can't jump straight up, but I doubt that. They can take a leap however.
Facts: a decapitated ant (the body) can live on for hours, even days. a praying mantice male can continue to shag even after his head has been bitten off. some fruit fly species produce sperm cells 10 times their own length.
Let's hope those last 2 don't count as indecent, cause I have a lot more where that came from

Until very recently, no centipede was found that did not have an ODD number of leg pairs. Usually the number varies from 15 to 191 pairs, all odd. No one knows why. However, Chris Kettle, a doctoral student in ecology, recently found a centipede with 48 pairs of legs, an even number. The remarkable discovery was presented to the International Congress of Myriapodology in Poland and featured in the science journal Trends in Genetics. Mr. Kettle suspects a genetic mutation is responsible for the even number of leg pairs.

You guys would enjoy the UK TV programme called 'QI' or 'Quite Interesting'.
Some facts:
The only nation whose name begins with an "A", but doesn't end in an "A" is Afghanistan.
Forty six percent of the world's water is in the Pacific Ocean. The Atlantic has 23.9 percent; the Indian, 20.3; the Arctic, 3.7 percent.
Bore-hole seismometry indicates that the land in Oklahoma moves up and down 25cm throughout the day, corresponding with the tides. Earth tides are generally about one-third the size of ocean tides.
The original fifty cent piece in Australian decimal currency had around $2.00 worth of silver in it before it was replaced with a less expensive twelve sided coin.
In downtown Lima, Peru, there is a large brass statue dedicated to Winnie-the-Pooh.
Only five countries in Europe touch only one other: Portugal, Denmark, San Marino, Vatican City, and Monaco.
Devon is the only county in Great Britain to have two coasts.
The official, neutral name of Switzerland, which has multiple official languages, is the latin "Confederation Helvetica", or the Helvetic Confederation, thus the "CH" on license plates, stickers and e-mail addresses. Their stamps also have 'Helvetic' prited on them.
Also this 'card reader' illusion on the QI website. I did it twice before I realised how it was done.
And for no reason a Family Guy quote to round this up.
Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for? Peter: I'll tell you what it's not for, son. And when I do, you'll understand why I can never go back to Sea World.

We enjoy sex so that we do it more often...
By same argument, any species which evolves to invent contraceptives is not going to be around for very long either

lol almost exactly the same principle. A quirky numbers game there are only a preset amount of numbers you can achieve using there process they place the same symbol on each one - then vary the symbol each try to add too the illusion that it is find your symbol.

The verb "cleave" is the only English word with two synonyms which are antonyms of each other: adhere and separate.
Also:
The combination "ough" can be pronounced in nine different ways. The following sentence contains them all: "A rough-coated, dough-faced, thoughtful plough man strode through the streets of Scarborough; after falling into a slough, he coughed and hiccoughed."

.... in which case, the obvious question to ask is, since the Designer must be extremely complex, who designed him?
