Now I personally know that most suggestions for htis game crash and burn in short order, so im not gonna ask for it to be aded . Instead let's have a jolly good 'ole chat about the possibilities of such a module.
Pros: -It would allow caldari ships that use up all of thier medslots for EW/Tanking to keep thier targets in place (no web though)
-Would allow the "utility highslots" ships to have more fitting options.
-would make the "anti 8stab" setups easier to fit.
Cons: -Unbalancing?

I wouldn't mind this at all, so many ships have extra utility slots... Imagine a Ferox with 5x 250 2's, disrupter, webber sensor booster, 4x damps 4x wcs.
Ftw???
EDIT: I suppose the amount of ew that would get fitted could be a problem, but meh...

-Step 2:
-Step 3: Profit
In all seriousness, though, I would absolutely love to see a high slot warp scrambler, perhaps one for each major ship size class. Being hislot items, they would rely more on powergrid than CPU; also, range would be scaled according to class.
For instance:
Frigate Class hislot scrambler: 5 CPU 5 MW 10 km range
Cruiser hislot scrambler: 10 CPU 50 MW 15km range
Battleship hislot scrambler: 15 CPU 500 MW 20km range.

It has been my opinion for some time now that all offensive mods should be hi slot only.
Would make fitting a ship much more interesting.

The problem is, what's to stop a Malediction (for example) running 2x webs then 4x 7.5km scramblers?

tbh i think your only thinking about caldari ships, sure it would mean caldaris can use full EW on thier meds, but doesnt warp scraming come under EW on the markets.
as for the anti 8stab idea, ya would still need 4 -2 points on ya which means for BS would reduce fire power by alot and u still need to get in range for the scramers.

True on both accounts, but the ability to actually hold your enemy in place is hard to do on most caldari ships if we want to have a decent (decent, not good) shield tank. Eg,
On a Caracal/Moa 1xSheild booster 3xHardeners
None left over
On a Ferrox 1xsheild Boost 1xAmp (needs it so it can rep damage fast enough) 3xHardeners
Once again, none left over
And our Assault frigs also have problems due to this as to be and effective ship you need to have a good tank, speed (afterburner), ability to hold your target and to hit the target. With 4 midslots that isn't easy.
And all other races ships would benifit, not just Caldari.

if people who use stabs don't have to sacrifice their weapons to do so, people who fit scramblers to catch shouldn't have to either.
make them either both high slots, or keep it as they are.

Nobody is proposing to change the scrambler to a high slot module. The actual idea is to make a high slot variant of the scrambler in addition to the mid slot ones.
I would like one. Would free up slots for shield tank on a raven...
HI: 6 siege, scram, nosf MED: AB, shield tank LO: whatever
medium weber drones

Limit them to one per ship.

Goodbye tacklers. You just closed into web range. Oops. Ah well. If you make warp disruptor highslot, web needs to go there too, remember.
And Gripen, you're limiting WCS to 1 per ship too of course.

It would be great for Raven/scorp and tempest pilots. All the other BS pilots would be more limited tho as it would reduce the amount of guns they fit.

Personaly, Id like to see Warp scram and Webs be an area effect instead of 1 ship. Not so much to hold a group but to effect the user of the device as well. If your going to hold someone from running, I see no reason you should be able to run either. |

Just for clarification, the discussion is about the addition of a high slot scrambler. Never said we should remove the med slot ones. And Maya Rykell, good point.
My idea was to just add scramblers that are identical to thier med slot counterparts. Only that they fit in a high rather than a med.

The fun and dare I say the whole point of high low and medium slots and all they entail is that you cant set up an uber ship thats good in all curcumstances...you HAVE to make compromises when fitting mods to a ship. And because you can't make an uber ship that warps in and wtfpwn's everything in sight you HAVE to make compromises about the way in which you use your ship...
What your suggesting would move Eve towards a situation where for each ship there'd be an ideal setup which everyone would use and the game would be predictable and boring..

The high slot ones would make some ships, like the retri, more useful.
But I still have to say no, just because it seems very wierd and would probably unbalance things o__O _____________

True true.
But for the caldari it's a bad thing, we need to use up all of our mids to have a decent tank, all the lows to make said tank last a damn, and we don't do enough damage to kill hte target before it warps, unlike the mighty gankships, we need to fit for a drawn out fight. And our ganksetups... wel, suck. And it's hard to gank when ya waiting for about a min of 5 seconds for the damage to start hitting

... In addition to gank Amarr and tank Amarr introducing the brand new EW Amarr:
8x racial jammer sensor boosters 8x 1600mm plates or cap relays, tank, whatever
(yup, that fits even on the Armageddon)
i for one welcome our new Amarr overlords... o.O;

I like this idea. Firstly it would mean from time to time we'd see battleships without NOS , which would frankly be a MASSIVE relief.
On top of that it would make battles last longer if more ships have less firepower , but more tackle.

So suggest some low-slot modules to boost shield tanking - fix the root problem, don't suggest bandaids which will break a LOT of other things in the game which are NOT broken at present.

I'd love to see some new high slot scramblers, more powergrid intensive but maybe with less cap use and increased range?
As for the low slot shield tanking modules.... maybe move more of the passive tanking gear there and sorting it out so a couple of shield rechargers would be a welcome additon to an active tank.
