hello all,
i have a very big problem basics what happens is sometimes when i do missions or try and look at someones info my computer resets and all my settings are reset to defaults, now his is happening more and more often its now everytime i do a mission my ship will not respond to combat comands and my computer will just reset itself.
now to fix this i have tried a full reinstall of eve and my computer!! (yes even the drivers) i have also done 5 virus scans with differnet programs and nothing has turned up.
if anyone has any idea of how to fix this please post it here lol as its been happening for 2 weeks now and i have had no reply from CCP on how to fix it :(

buy a new computer do a reinstall of windows completley (are u trying to run 2 clients from the one folder on the one PC) that could be a problem if u want to do the alt+tab thing get a 2nd folder to run the 2nd copy of eve ie youre main and youre alt

my computer is brand new, nvedia 7800 sli graphics card, 2 gig of ram, 600 gig of hard drive, 20 inch moniter and all the bloody trimmings lol it can handel it!, lol dont have an alt at the moment dont have a need for one but thnx for trying :)

mmmmm ok have u plugged the internet cord in if you aint conencted eve wont work. Please look at the back and ensure u have an active internet connection lol (oh wait u were able to post) hehe

just checked its all fine, drivers were reinstalled yesterday lol all whats one my computer now is eve BF2 teamspeak and msn lol and basic what comes with computer aka firewalls and virus scanners

ok ditch msn messenger and teamspeak - then try eve are u on dial up or broadband (TS and dial up and eve at the same time dont always work to well)

4 meg broadband :) *cuddels his net lead lmao, i cant exactly ditch msn and ts due to my homework needs its saved my ass a few times lmao

Update your sound drivers...I had the same problem, computer doing a reboot especially during combat. Took me forever to solve it. Brand new computer, said "no way" but I was fortunate that the XP error search came up with a fix. You might also try disabling the game sounds, I don't know if that will help - I never was that smart before stumbling upon the answer.

mmmm ok so its not the internet connection just turn TS and MSN off and see if eve works.

running 2 accounts from the same eve folder is fine.
make sure you have the latest video drivers,
try running a mem checker like :-Mem Test 86
next thing .. turn down trhe GFX options a bit [see if that helps - sometimes all over the top is not as good]

where did you get the sound update drivers? just off the windows website?
and msn has been turned off :D always is when im playing lol ill try without ts as well :)

I'm runing two 7800GTX in SLI mode as well, and I too had issues with various stuff before I updated to the latest beta drivers. The 81.87 can be downloaded HERE, if you're not runing them already.
I've had them since release date and no single issue has been found, so I find them very stable. Also, what mainboard are you using? I've got the ASUS P5ND2-SLI Deluxe and had to get new chipset drivers from nVidia (the once on the disc that came with it wheren't working that well when doing SLI) before it got really stable.

i dont actually know what mother board i have withour looking it all up however thanks for the beta sound updates actually (hurrys to look up the mother board)ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe PCI-Express Mainboard - ATX there we go :)
