It seems CCP are going to be sorting it all out with a roleplaying event and some mysterious way of correcting any wrongs the new items may have caused.
Seems someone (I'm not suggesting any specific corp. here [wink wink]) may be penalised?

They'll just demand a refund and blather on about how they're the richest corp in the game... whoever "they" are. (nudge nudge) --------------- I used to be in the FA. I like cookies. Eve Radio is teh pwn. |

daes, you need help from Jeebus less than most. Many (myself included) were certain the whole thing was a load of pod goo, but you maintained it was real all along
I am glad (very!) that CCP decided to address this quickly before it got too out of ha^H^H^H^H^H^H more out of hand. Someone (i don't need a name) is losing their Jove character and, hopefully, some in-game event will occur with TTI (rather than logging in to find them gone). It'd be cool of TTI was approached and given a deadline to return the items - i would consider it not inappropriate under the circumstances if the Jovian government offered some small compensation for speedy cooperation.

Two jovians and sanruu have been seen in venal, so you might be right, BH. .

... Just pray the Jovians' idea of "negating the effects of the renegade's crime" doesn't boil down to 'literally wipe out everything and everyone who might be even vaguely familiar with the whole thing'... :s

Will items be available to people who proticipate in some sort of RP event or are they going to just make a news event and put them on the market or in the game for looters? Anyone know?
I would like to see a RP event where you get the items if you are involved then eventually moved to ones, like some people namless, who don't think this is a RPG.

Edited by: eriq on 07/08/2003 17:13:07 this could be a great way to begin to introduce the jove into the game.
maybe they could send a contingent of ships to TTi HQ to "negotiate" the return of their property. the storyline could advance in several directions from there depending on TTi's response. maybe several jove incursions against TTi if talks are at an impasse or maybe a swap of the item for some tech2 items and isk, etc. which could be one of the many ways that tech2 begins to enter the game.
ccp, here's a great opportunity for you to advance the RP world of eve.

yes, it would be, or maybe it was all along... unbeknownst even to some of the devs....
Or maybe its just another fuc%up that will get covered up in RP.
what WOULD be cool is if the Jove's ships were modeled after ZeroWing ....
ehehheheheh and they spoke in broken english...

Someone is going to lose their Jove character?
Who?
What is the significance of seeing two Jove in Venal alongside Sanruu?

well i would assume the Gm ******* who messed with the game by doing his own RP effort with some gimp in deep space....
really helps the overall cause doesnt it, players flocking away , no sign of fixes on the horizons, patches now on hold until the CTD is fixed.... and no sign of the gameplay beginning except for a few lucky individuals

I was just saying, they were seen there, and if they *were* taking the items back, then that would be good on the RP side of things. As to losing jove chars, i dunno, tbh. .

Hold on.
Didn't the tech 5 items get released accidentally?
i.e a ship exploded (mysteriously) and some lucky player (who happened to fly past it) looted it.
Aren't there supposed to be more than one tech 5 item around?
Suddenly the GM's reason for the tech 5 items being around seems really flimsy....

Because TTI has posted on the forums that the tech5 mining laser(s) are stored at their corp base in Venal. And wasnt Sanruu the guy who claims to have been the one to initially be given the tech5 ?

Look.. you are all attempting to solve this puzzle. Who screwed up? Was it a Dev or Polaris. Or could it be a way to introduce Jove equipment into the game? You know what? It really doesn't matter. Do you know why? Because its taken on a life of its own. No one knows what really happened. But I do know that it has gotten a lot of attention. Which really means only one thing... that it is interesting and it is enhansing our gameplay. ... and this is good. ---
