LOL.. the simple reason is when you have a platerax, it makes no difference whether you equipt light rails or light blasters or light beams or light ac's. Why? Because you get no ship bonuses for light weapons so use what accommidates your skillset and battle requirements. Another reason: He is also using microwave crystals, a bonus to range, to hit those small ships that like to stick outside of scramble range, along side of a better tracking turret than medium beam laser IIs, with better RoF.

Great movie btw ;) At first i was like... Damn the short bus are owning.... but yea..
Yea it is a minmatar dread, why it was there? dunno just kinda turned up, the pilot had nothing to do with the fight though, personally i didnt even notice it untill i replayed the footage lol.

Sorry for gate crashing your vid - the dread had just come of the production line and, as I had never flown one before, I was just flying it around.
