I am guessing no one in the noob category knows as they all invest in clones, so post your question in the general discussion category -------------------------------------------------- - Jamie (Aka) Spartan III Hardener Stacking Penalty Explained |

You lose 5% of the difference between your skill points and the clone you have. The maximum is one level of your highest skill. - Proud member of the [23].

So buying a clone with 1 million skill points more than i have wasn't a smart move?

Hehe it was not needed, but it will stay there and you will eventually get to 1 mill sp so you don't have to worry about it for a while.

Delana it may not have been needed, but you wont have to upgrade it for 1~2 months depending on attributes and the skills you are training.
If your not risking your self in lowsec yet, then a higher SP clone means less upgrades. ------- Bringer of Squirrelly Wrath - Foaminian Card Cult

No, that only applies if the clone is LESS than your total SPs. - Proud member of the [23].

Especially as a younger pilot you'll want to buy clones that are close to 2X your current Skill Points as long as you think you don't be getting podded anytime soon. They'll last forever and you'll quickly grow into them. Also they are still pretty cheap. So buying a clone with +1 million points was a great idea.
Once you start getting into the 4 million+ range your cheaper options get more limited and your time between new clones increases too, so you can start just getting the "next" clone. -- Lil Miner |

i am confused. does this refer to having a clone with less skill points than you? or do you lose 5% with no clone?
if my clone has more skill points than i do i lose no skill points correct?
sorry to be so dense, its just the OP asked about having no clone and you reference "the clone you have".

Both. You lose 5% of the difference. Thus, with no clone, the difference is 5% of the total.

When you get podded, every implant you have is destroyed. No cloning or anything else will prevent this.

Looks like a good a place as any to ask this:
If you get podded, what happens to your skill-in-training? Does it continue on the clone, pause (like when switching skill), or get reset to the last full level?
Also, again if podded, do you have to buy a replacement clone, or is the cost for a clone a "support contract" type deal, where you can get podded every 5 minutes, but it doesn't cost anything extra? |

If you get podded, your current clone is used to bring you back and you must purchase a new one. Not sure about the skill currently in training though.

From experience: The Skill continues, and i did NOT have any SP loss, so far.
In addition, When i was podded with implants, the increased attributes where KEPT until I changed the skill.

Good point!
If someone drags you into battle and you're worrying about your implants: set a long skill, a lvl 5. In case you die you got 2 weeks/month to enjoy the implants you don't have :) ----
