Edited by: Dave PSI on 10/11/2005 22:00:26 Dear CCP,
i am not shure if you noticed it, but R.A.M Modules are getting really rare. Perhaps could you confirm, if that is wanted to reduce the T2 output? Than it will be ok, but reduce the available Numbers of T2 items available. I already stopped building a few weopons with low profit, because these BPOs destroy the rams (20% per batch).
As far as i know i am not the only prodder, which is running a bit low (perhaps i have more in reserve than the most others? :-) )
Or didnt you noticed that fact? Than plz give out BPOs for that or increase dropping rate!
Btw. i dont have problems to pay high prices for the RAMs, as long as there are enough to keep prod running!
I would be appreciate if a dev could give a short statement.
THX David

Hi bud Excuse the silly question
Are you saying they Damage the rams by 20% per batch or 2 out of 10 are destroyed per batch.
Personally I have 95% damage per Starship ram per run and have no problems repairing them . Admittedly Its a 1 and a half day cycle but Isnt repairing an option?

Ok I under stand - But If you only were to part repair a Ram module to say 85% - 99% then it cannot be destroyed when It can only do 4 runs . as the factories wont take a ram that has less than 20%
Hope this helps

I'm glad I'm such a hoarder. I've got hundreds of RAMs accumulated from mission running over the last 11 months. All I need now is for the market price to increase a little more...
Can somebody remind me what the sources of RAM modules are? I know I've seen some drop in the habitat on Silence the Informant recently. I haven't had any as agent mission bonus rewards for a while, but that may be because I've changed my agent. Any other sources?

I can only agree with the OP here. Weapon tech RAMs are reaching crazy prices as producers are willing to pay more than 100k per unit for them.
Take one of our BPOs: The Dual Light Beam Laser II. Each laser built uses 20% of a weapon RAM. Building 5 lasers destroys the RAM completely. This means we have to add 20k to the price of the finished product just to compensate for the RAM costs. I just hope the consumers are aware of this when they complain about high T2 prices.

Well I had 100s of RAM modules crammed in a can in my hanger, put them all up for the cheapest price to get rid of them as they are never gonna be of any use to me.

I just picked up some from a Silence the Informant mission, where I'm at they are only worth like 10k. Anyone paying good money for them? ------------------------------------ Shadrin Gemini Investment and Trading Company Making your money work for you. |

I'm picking RAM up from ranged Buy Orders in Caldari space, presumably from mission bonuses, but very slowly. I put these Orders out as a trial and they will be the first to be cancelled if I run short of Orders.
Yes prices do seem to be rising, so a shortage of supply would be a reasonable assumption. I don't need to sell so in a rising market I'm hoarding of course --- Trikassi Enterprises, oiling the jumpgates of commerce since 2004 |

The quickest thing CCP could do to help would be to stop the RAM being consumed at 100% damage.
Then they still be repaired.

Good for you! I believe part of the problem is that RAMs used to be in no demand at all so people have gotten used to just recycling them instead of trying to sell them. After all, the mineral value of one RAM was 20-25k last time I checked.
And the situation is not as bad as it first seems. It's only the Weapon Tech RAMs that are over-priced at the moment. Other types of RAMs can still be found in ready supply for 30-40k. My theory is that all the new t2 missile launcher prints introduced recently have driven up the demand for weapon tech. And since these mods are new, they are still expensive, meaning that producers can afford to pay a lot for RAMs without affecting their profit margins. I'm sure it will level out within a couple of months.

This is EVE, not [insert name of game with pointy eared and bearded characters here]. There is no rules problem here, just an economic glitch. T2 items are not required to play the game.

hint guys there is a 100% source where i get them from some level 2 and 3 combat missions - u need to go to the low sec ministry of war agent in sadana - vehan and around the aridia region. Those agents as mission rewards drop R.A.M modules and also d.DB modules for research things i think. They are one of the few sources elft so suggest u get to aridia and use some of those missions

Level 3 + Raven = overkill Level 2 + Raven = WAY overkill
So I don't know why anyone would take a Raven there ________________________________ Therian Dreamscape Chief Executive Officer Director of Manufacturing and Sales |

These used to be great mission rewards. Along with other tech 2 componants. Manufacturers complained and got the tech 2 mission rewards nerfed. Now the prices of R.A.M and D.b have been rising, as well as tech II sub componants.
What manufacturers really wanted was a reduction in Sellable tech II sub modules from agents so they wouldn't have to compete with mission runners. Now, they have to live with the consequences.
