I'm going to be going mining in an armageddon soon. Recommended setup? If you've got 2 setups- 1 for .5 and above and 1 for .4 and below- I'd be very grateful.

Ummm...mining lasers, maybe a couple of expanders and some stabs for the occassional player pirate is standard fare on a mining battleship, right? Let your heavy drones keep the npcs off you...they'll not really scratch the paint on a battleship in any empire space...

Thanks, keep 'em coming (yes, I know mining in an arma is approaching sacrelige. It's only to make the moolah to buy the rest of the equipment for it =D)

I mine in 0.0 space in a tanking geddon
Heres what i use
High
6 x Miner 2,s + 2 x Heavy Nosferatu,s
Med
3 x Cap Rehargers 2,s
Low
3 Hardeners (2 Kin + 1 Therm - good against Gallente Rats)
1 reactor control unit
1 med armour repairer
3 X tech 2 co processors
Drone bay
8 Ogre 1,s (for defence in case things go pear shaped)
8 Miner 1,s
Hers what i do
I look thru the belts for a tankable spawn/s
Usually nothing heavier than a couple or cruisers with say 2 frig rats as well
Soon as the Rats get within 21km, they get the nos,s so i can run the armor repairer
I watch my armor at all times, if it gets below a certain level and i,m struggling for cap, i warp out
If scrambled i nail the scrambling frigs with the drones
Never destroy a rat, even a frig - you never know what might come back in its place
If i can tank the damage ok - then my alts mining barge heads in
then back for the hauler - rinse and repeat
Usually can mine a fair amount of croke and bistot this way
probably can make about 10-15 mil per hour
