Hi,
If the plan is to auction T2 bpo to get more of the rare ones into the game such as cap recharger 2, I can understand why this need doing..I dont even know what will be auctioned. But one thing I do know is with this system the super rich who probably have a load of t2 bpo's anyway will get richer and the poor well we wont be getting any richer!
Unless some Robin Hood type character saves they day

I understood that there were going to be some kind of t2 bpo auctions going on for the next patch unless someone is having a joke with me...if so disregard this post

I don't believe it is going to happen. The current system is, TBH, fairer.
With an auction, all the top BPOs will auction for large amounts, going to the rich only. With the current system anyone can be lucky and get one. So if they're going to release, say, 8 more cap II BPOs, it would most likely be better to give them away through research agents than to just toss them to the people with 75b+ each. - Proud member of the [23].

Agreed.
Who are the super rich? Lottery winners.
Who can afford these bpo's at auction? See above.
It will lead to a stupid scenario of the super rich snapping up rare bpo's to complete their stranglehold.
Auctions are a poor idea imo.

Actually, most lottery winners aren't the super rich. The super rich buy the BPOs from the lottery winners, thus spreading the wealth. - Proud member of the [23].

Dont go arguing semantics with me.
Theres a handful of "good" bpos.
The owners of these are the people that control the majority of the money in the game. They print ISK so fast that the owners can afford to offer huge amounts for others that come on auction.

Ah, no. I think you got the wrong end of the stick on this one ;). The T2 bpo lottery is the name commonly given to the system in which T2 bpos come into the game. With every big patch where new ships come into the game, they get new BPOs added to the research agent lottery, which is a method for randomly picking a player by generating a random number, the maximum of which is equal to the total Research Points in a certain field (such as caldari starship design), putting all of the players in some kind of order and then picking the player who has the winning research point.
It's just a raffle where each research point is a ticket for a T2 bpo when it's seeded. You can't buy research points, you need to grind missions to get them.

Can I argue semantics with you? :). They can't produce ISK, just redistribute it toward themselves from others. The only way ISK ever enters Eve is through mission rewards, bounties and NPC sell orders.

You are correct, this was on the drawingboard (or something like that)

When someone walks into a room and says "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" do you take it literally to?

I agree, the current lottery system would be far fairer than an Auction. I really need to get an R&D agent. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a BPO that gives me the ability to print big wads of iskies at will like Expanded cargohold 2. Of course i'd be happy with a Covert ops BPO, but still whill i'm dreamin....
