Oh well I tried, I really did. I love the concept of the game and have enjoyed the little time I have been able to play. I have a high end system,runs everything like a dream.....except eve. BSOD's, lock ups, CTD's - the works. All drivers up to date. My system is optimised and has no spyware/virus' etc. So the problem ain't on my side.
What a shame. The community here is great - no doubt - hat's off to you guys. However, all I have seen is countless posts about how CCP don't give a sh*t about their customers. Judging by the amount of posts regarding performance issues and how long these issues have remained unresolved it is obvious that CCP really don't care.
This is one of the most loyal fanbases I have ever seen and they are simply not appreciated in my Humble EVEnoob opinion. I now have to give up and will not be signing on after my 30 day trial. As for my two friends whom I was going to offer 14 day buddy trials to - errmmm really cannot do that.

shame to see players leave because of this.
There are issues that stil have not been resolved by CCP, unfourunately :(
I dont pretend to be an expert. but if you post your system specs and exact problem ill see if i can work it out for you.

Funny, I've never had a problem, but then I work with these types of system problems daily as a tech. I'd stick with it - only reason to post here is to try and find a solution. 
Posting any actual information would be a start, such as what type of system you're running, logserver info, any type of information about the crashes, etc...

Maybe your 'optimisations' are to blame? I have a very mistreated, mid(ish) spec comp. I havn't had a problem so far. And I travel through Rens frequently.

I've never had a single crash, disconnect, or any problem with EVE (other than the usual lag in hubs during peak hours) for over 6 months.
Perhaps we could help if you posted your system specs?

I wudnt resort to leaving a game (that you oblivously enjoy) completely without first trying to solve the issue. Ive recently been experiencing CTD probs too but Im not going stop playing EVE unless there is absolutely nothing i can do to stop it. Which i dout there is. So as the previous posts have said post ur specs or ask the Tech support VIA the "Ask a question" section of this site.

i find these things so weird.
I probably run one of the crappiest computers in eve.
amd 1800xp+ 256 ram and some sort of crappy video card, but i don't ever experience crash to desktop or any sort.
I even run 2 clients at the same time.
ofcourse i have everything at low so what's there to crash?:)

Thanks for your replies - this is a great community ! Anyway here's my specs:
AMD 64 3200 (venice) OC'd to 2.45ghz
XFX 6800gt PCIE OC'd to 425/1123
2gb Elixr Ram
Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 sigma 8 series
XP pro
2 x 80gb seagate barracudas SATA
I have also tried running the game with nothing overclocked - no joy.
oops forgot - i also have an Audigy 2. Also all drivers up to date on gfx card, mboard (inc bios) and soundcard. Xp is bang up to date, my system is clean from any
I have also installed the game on another 2 pcs (one lower spec and one very similar) and they have the same problems (one of the pc's is owned by a tech - he couldn't sort it either - first thing I have never seen him fix lol)
I am still trying to sort this before my 30 days are up - who knows !

I'm no tech BUT, You say you've run it on other macines with same problem??
My question is: " Did you use the same eve install files etc on each machine??" or down load fresh each time
Maybe your original files/patches are corrupted??
The software is common to all thre machines, and you'd think it would run ok on at least one, but the same problems on all three?!?! must be corrupted files/patches....

hmmm...i bought the game from a store so it's the CD I used, then patched. You think that could be the issue? I will download the game rather than use the CD and install the game again.

Yeah, try a fresh copy of the website. I know there is little things that are wrong here and then. But do realise this is a game that constantly updates and that ads new features etc.
Ive never really had problems. And if i did have them....its always solved within a few days.

Ok uninstalled CDROM version, downloaded version off the site,installed etc...so far so good no problems as yet. Fingers crossed !
