Portable Training and Chat Interface
Is this possible? Say, for a nominal fee (maybe $5 USD) you can select skills that are trained to at least level 0.01. Also included would be a web chat client with a direct link to the world of EVE. I was thinking just a corp chat.
The idea comes from the fact i have an older laptop at home that I take around to coffee shops and whatnot, but cant run EVE (not shader compatible). So my question is:
Would you buy a "Potachi" for $20 and pay an additional $5 a month per account to use it?
I would!

Hmmm ... good idea but .. why pay more ?? I think .. now i pay for 2 account .. the only adding from this idea is to change you'r skill on a crap laptop ( i have one ) It will be logic that this tool will be given for free. One is sure , i dont pay one isk more / month
The isk be whith you :)

well it requires certain resources that arent in game yet.... think of it as an entirely different game, because this uses the same world and server, but a different client and server...your not even listed as being online using Potachi, just there, like an actual afk mode, using a low resource client to do limited things

thin client with a chat interface and a gui to open your skills, wow they do that in web browsers now days, just need a small plug-in... Gee whoda thunk it?? Oh hold on, we already have the begins of this from the eve-online website. Just add a web based chat, plug in tied into the eve chat system and the ability to not only look at your skills but to change them and it would rock!!
I would love to chat with my corp buddys even when I was to busy to fly.

I think it would have to be a regular program so that CCP would have more proprietory control over it. Using https is great and all...but its still often targeted by trojans and the like.

??? I am confused by your line of thought. pleaes clarify. As a server admin of a company with many websites I have all the control, the customers can only do what I allow them to do. yes malicious coders can try to hijack my servers and numerious other bad things, but by and large customers are constrained to a small group of operations logged and controlled. ex run eve-mail client in a java/xml window. run chat client in a window.
