I can't login! The launcher says that right now the game is in VIP mode, whatever that means....
Actually, could this have something to do with this? https://store.eve.com/collector-s-edition/eve-the-second-decade-collector-s-edition-116 Has Eve suddenly got a VIP mode where ppl who bought the 150 euro package got early access to the game for a short period of time? |

Basically it's debugging mode... so they can test whether everything is working as intended. obviously the servers need to be online and in a standard play-state to test things properly, so they limit who can connect for a short time.
you can likely expect a short VIP mode blip every time a DT has to be extended. it's better than them having to pull the servers down again if an issue does occur. Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated. |

Thread has been moved to EVE General Discussion.
And as said above, VIP mode is essentially a way for the Dev's to test Tranquillity (the server we play EvE on) in a live state without allowing customers to log in. I hope that answers your question. ISD Ezwal Lt. Commander Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

VIP mode is designed for 10 year vets to have first access to EVE prior to the rest of the masses being allowed on. That is why you see market orders changed after downtime, but before you logged in...

I didn't seem to have this issue. Did someone select me for VIP status without informing me? See Bio for isk doubling rules. -áIf you didn't read bio, chances are you helped fund those who did. |

Vixen Impersonator Player
Potentially, but not very likely. More likely a man expressing his homoerotic fantasies via a main stream MMO. To each their own.

Well, someone has to get to all of those resources first... might as well be us right? To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |
