So CCP, I believe you have corrected this already, but I have been reading in channels where a number of sharp industrialists noted that hyper-accelerated ME research was possible after the June 4th release. They got ME jobs started, and in some cases completed, before this was fixed.
Do you plan on rolling back BPO's that had this applied to them, or are you going to let this stand, and allow them to have a huge advantage over other industrialists for as long as those BPO's exist? |

So exploiting a bug in the game is OK, as long as it is "not as bad as others"? Good to know. |

If they had to look at every little thing before they release a patch we'd probably have Odyssey in 2020.

It's more like: It's ok to exploit a bug as long as CCP doesn't decide it's not ok. Punishment can be retroactive, so gamble at your own risk. |

I am not talking about giving them a break on the mistake. Things like that happen in an incredibly complicated game like Eve.
What I am talking about is rectifying that mistake. I have a char that copies and sells what were very well researched BPO's.
So yeah, I have some serious skin in the game, as my BPC's are now worth much less compared to the ones that have exploited this bug.
Are you saying that this advantage that a albeit a few alert / connected players exploited is OK to maintain on a permanent basis? |

ThatGÇÖs the funny thing about being human. We always find a way to justify things that we know are wrong.
I always prefer a less of a grey area in these matters when it comes to effecting other players. A bug or exploit should never be allowed to give any one the advantage over another in a PVP game.

Welcome to EVE. **** happens.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'Hodor'. |

Indeed.
Imagine this scenario:
CCP does its tiericide, and bumps up the costs of some BS BPO material costs significantly (like they just did), but mineral requirements on the same BPO's prior to the change were unaffected, giving anyone who had an "original" BPO, a permanent huge advantage.
Can you imagine the rage on the forums then?
Is this situation any different? An unknown amount of people are now sitting on BPO's that are superior to everyone else in the game. |

Yes, and that has been an ongoing battle for a long time, which has just been settled indirectly with the decryptor price crash. |

On a scale of 1 to 10 this specific issue rates at about a .5
Tempest in a Teacup.
But please do rage on. Far, far, worse things have happened without CCP doing a rollback. Just be glad it was caught withing a few days. Some bugs were exploited for YEARS before CCP found out and corrected them. What advantage? So they got a few quickly researched BPO's on the ME part. So what? CCP fixed this and now all is back to normal.
You really crying over a little bit of time that people managed to use on an accelerated scale for less then a week?

Yes, I am, since people now have perfect ME on who knows how many BPO's. Can't wait until the capital BPO's that would require 5 years of research start showing up. |

From my understanding, this bug impacted a limited selection of capital rig bpos. Is that not correct? If it's other bpos, which as i am curious.
If not... In general, capital rigs reach perfect stats at 75-100 ME. Additionally, the more popular cap rigs like trimarks were not bugged.
So really, maybe my understanding is off. If not, this is literally complaining about a minor set of pos that will rarely be used and within 6 months will be negated by people doing normal research on them. um... Seems like an extremely minor thing to comlpain about. |
