I asked the GM's for an official policy clarification on adding your own tracks to the Eve Jukebox. Now obviously I am not allowed to quote the reply, so I shall paraphrase:
The information in the Player Guide needs revising and editing for clarity. The GM who replied to my petition informed me that he would see if this could be done.
Modifications to the Eve Client are a EULA violation, but... ... if you were to use a third party tool to edit your playlist, and you didn't go shouting your head off about it, and (most importantly) it is the only modification you make, then the GM's are not going to come running after you with the ban-stick.
Topics on this subject are locked without discussion because they are a technical violation, so don't post them (yes, I see the irony).
To sum up: Is it possible to modify the playlist? Yes.
Is it against the rules? Yes.
Would those rules be enforced over this? If it is the only modification you make, no.
I hope the mods will now lock this thread, but leave the content. Then hopefully we can put the matter to rest and put an end to the threads about it.
*To the mods: Upon request full details of the petition involved can be made available to yourselves to confirm validity and accuracy of this post.

I have posted the official response. How about you actually read the post first?
AND DON'T REPLY (because you aren't allowed to discuss it anyway).

Edited by: Del Narveux on 13/11/2005 15:43:40 It also screws up my TS. I can barely hear other people, when I turn down winamp volume it gets worse. _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

Solution : Have a folder that we can place our own music in and when we run EVE the songs will show up »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»

it worked great in pc version of vice city
it also would make cueing up "Flight of the Valkyries" from the Wagnerian opera, alot easier for fraps movies. ___________________________ http://carttune.com/lord_small_alli.jpg Aegis Militia Conclave official representative C.E.O. of SHOD

How can it be quoted for the truth when it is wrong?
Basically if you want to add songs to the playlist, and you find the tool to do it, you can. Now, as that comes from a GM (which you aren't), I guess it is a damn sight more accurate than the 'truth' you are quoting? ______________________________________________

I just use the "oldschool" 2.XX version of winamp now, and I use a plugin for it called sneaky amp. It lets you give keyboard commands to winamp, letting you control it from inside games and whatnot. And if you use the .stuff extractor you can just add all the eve music to your current library of music as well.

its called global hotkeys now. Tho it seems a bit buggy, it may just be the keys im using for the commands :) (play/pause buttons on laptop instead of an actually button like...5)

Then it begs the question. Why have it in the EULA if you arent going to enforce it? :|

Modifying the Eve client is not allowed under any circumstances.
If you do modify the Eve client to play songs other than those included, please be aware CCP may take actions at their discression.
