Deep Space Nine was my favorite. Especially the later seasons where the Dominion gets involved.
They were really able to do a lot with a cast half made up of people who were not Starfleet. |

TNG universe for me so DS9 and Voyager.
DS9 was all about obrien and bashir as well as quark and dax.
Voyager was all about the doctor. "I think you should buy a new Mayan calendar. Mine has muscle cars on it." --áKenneth O'Hara

I couldn't choose just one...or two...or three...or four, even. I liked them all...a lot. Even through my tears at the crimes the writers of Enterprise committed, I still liked the show overall. Looking forward to more. ,\\//

DS9 had by far the best writing, best characters, and most believable character development. Sisko is amazing, and need I say more than Garak and Quark? TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

TOS > TNG > Voyager > ST reboot>DS9 >....................................>Enterprise
TOS and TNG are classic and for me the only real Star Trek shows (mainly the through movies though1-7) TNG had the most creative episodes and the best Captain, however the Charackters weren't that great/beleivable especially Worf/Riker/Wessley.
Voyager was great, with great Story and Charackters, but some of the Episodes were just copies of TNG Episodes (good ones, but nonetheless copies)
DS9, quite suprised how many ppl liked it actually, I found it the least trekkish Star Trek show. It was way more about human relationship than the actually vision of the future. For me it was laways like watching the sci-fi version of Dallas.
Enterpise, had a nice Intro. |

Best Episode?
You know there are so damn many, but if I had to choose, it would be In The Pale Moonlight. It showcased what Sisko and Garak were capable of doing and was an incredible morality tale.
A very close second is The Visitor. One of three Star Trek episodes to ever make me cry. Truly a masterpiece, and the relationship between Sisko and Jake was such a strong point of the series. Sisko was genuinely a good father. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Sometimes people think best episode is an opinion, to each their own kinda thing. Usually they right about that.
DS9 however has a right answer. |

DS9 by a long shot.
It was one of the first TV series that took a cue from "Twin Peaks" and was put together cinematically instead of just being shot like standard front-lit television. The character arcs are grand and believable.
The close relationship between Sisco and Jake is probably due to their having been literally next door neighbors since the day Cirroc Lofton was born. Avery Brooks was close to their family and had basically already been a surrogate father to Cirroc his whole life at that point. They didn't even have to act. |

Me too. It was the most talky one and therefor my least favorite...
The best I can think of.
1. In the Pale Moonlight
No particular order.
Trials and Tribulation Paradise Lost / Homefront The Changing face of Evil / When it Rains / Dogs of War / Tacking into the Wind / What you Leave Behind Call to Arms Second Skin For the Cause The Wire Profit and Loss Hard Time Favor the Bold / Sacrifice of the Angels The Way of the Warrior The Marque Cardassians Improbable Cause / The Die is Cast The Visitor AR-558 A Man Alone A Time to Stand / Rocks and Shoals Tribunal Waltz Empok Nor Explorers Inquisition His Way Duet Who Mourns for Morn
I forgot how great that scene was.
Another excellent one though I could not find video.

Yes, objectively, with no "era//age adjustments", I place TOS on an even lower rung than Enterprise. I dare you to disagree with that. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/User:Akita_T Build your own EVE PC http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1559734 |

Watched it on BBC when I was around 12... you know something is that good when this melody at the end brings a tear to your eye and haunts you after a decade.
Definitely one of Patrick Stewards best performances in anything.

I really enjoyed watching TNG as a kid, and then really loved DS9 (the later ones where they turned Sisko back into Hawk from Spencer for hire...., I didnt really like Voyager much until they squeezed Jeri Ryan into purple spandex (for obvious reasons) but at least the later seasons were decent.
I really wanted to like Enterprise, but they started the series off with time travel bull****, and that pretty much killed it for me (I f****** hate time travel in ST as i believe it to be a copout, once in a while is fine..dont get me started on the ST movie reboot....). They had infinite directions in which to go, but its like they had to hurry up and get in line with the original series cannon instead of developing the trial and error method of the first explorations and such. I really enjoyed Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, and was hoping for more from him, but as a captain he just fell flat.
Im hoping one day theyll get another ST franchise on TV. There are soo many storylines on which they could build a series out there. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

I disagree, time travel works in a show but only if it is established as a core component of the lore like in Doctor Who. Which also uses it for character development, fleshing out the decisions you can make to influence, putting ****** in the cupboard ect.
On a semi related note I've been advised to check out quantum leap... any good?

My favorite will always be TNG, it was my first, it was based around the comings and goings of the flagship of the fleet, and Captain Picard \o/.
I never really got into DS9 or Voyager, and I completely missed Enterprise. I saw a few episodes on Netflix and thought the concept was awesome: a mix of Star Trek with NASA thrown in, Tripp was an awesome character. It almost felt liek watching a documentary on Apollo 11, only it was Enterprise. |
