Head on over here to read the details of how this goes down! In order to maintain credibility I will refrain from using a "ALL UR PLEX R BLONG TOME"- type cliche jokes, but I do so begrudgingly. Professionalism is hard. Oh yes, by the way. This means that alliances that did not sign up for the random draw can still enter the silent auction. I on the other hand must bid a minimum of 6 since otherwise there wouldn't be a contract ;O

Why any of them would do that instead of going to 6-7 (a trivial increase) and at least give themselves a chance I dont know. Realistically I would be extremely surprised if someone got in with such a low bid.

Honestly ccp this is a ****** move you set a deadline for the draw but then you open the silent auction to anyone. If they didn't care to meet the deadline why should they even have a chance of getting in? Not only does my alts team have to compete against the others from the draw now we have to worry about some bored alliance with tomuch isk that didn't plan ahead just coming in and dumping a crap ton of plexs to grab a spot. Again crappy move CCP should only be open to those that planed ahead for the random draw. EDIT: Besides just possibly eatting more plex form market that is.

Allowing those who forgot cough goons cough doesnt change much. The Anger of the poster above is both misplaced and amusing. RvB has sold all the rifters and entered a bid :D

Trust me when I say this. CCP can make rules and bend / brake them anytime they want. There is no rhyme or reason to it. My only advise is to make a decent bid and hope you get it. These are not lawyers writing these rules and as such are able to say "what I meant was...." GL to you though sir, I hope your team that followed the rules get in over a team that didnt.

Well you dont have to worry about not having enough teams. There are already over 64 that were in the random draw, and by the rules the ones that were not picked in the draw.... already have a 5 plex bid in the silent auction. This means that if noone else bid in the auction then CCP must "randomly" select the other 32 teams from the random draw pool that were not selected.

I don't think that those who applied for the random draw will AUTOMATICALLY be regarded as bidding 5 PLEX. At least it wasn't that way last year (then again... many things are unlike last year). IF the bidding is a separate thing from the random draw, I would naturally expect like 20 teams to place very high bids. These are the big players with no money issues who are risk-shy and typically steamroll you with 3:1 numbers on a nullsec roam. Then there will be a couple of cheap suicide-bidders who will offer just a few PLEXes, don't give a second thought to losing and just hope for their lucky shot. And then there will be those who are not incredibly spacerich and afraid to undock... after all, team captains are also EVE players. :-D The question is just: how many teams are there in each group. (for entertainment purposes I left out the very few who will manage to hit the sweet spot with their bid. I think teams will either go for "participate no matter what" or "can't afford but try nevertheless")

If anything, this kind of delaying reminds me of government tenders in my banana country, where the delay is usually required to fix the results - so the right corporation(s) wins, and dangerous opponents get outed on formalities. On a related note - if anyone's interested and will PM me their bids, I'll start putting up a list of results and post it here later. /Sairait
