In University of Caille corp chat we had someone spamming an out of game website advertising ISK for $$. If you see this happening, please do not buy from there! I know that all the regulars on here know better, but these guys are getting bolder for a reason: THEY ARE MAKING MONEY AT IT! That means that SOMEONE HERE IS BUYING THAT ISK! So if you are doing so, PLEASE STOP! They will go away if there is no market!
If you see this spam, petition it, and make sure everyone knows that this is illegal and the in-game ramifications of having an economy dominated by exploiters! I got a real quick response on my petition, so they are taking this seriously at CCP.
I'm going to post in the newbie forums as well, but it's the responsibility, I think, of all more experienced players to guide the newer players in situations like this!

Aye.
And then, grab a Caracal and the most smart bombs you can possibly fit, and take care of business.

Edited by: Megadon on 14/11/2005 04:12:12 All your doing by posting all over the place "don't do this" is giving publicity to this practice. You're not going to stop anyone from doing anything. People will do what they do. hopefully ccp will act quickly on your petition.

I petitoned it in another channel.
It's sad to see they use trial accounts for it.
They should take the time and follow the trail back to whomever gave them the trial acc imo.

Spamming the boards isn't the best way to get your point across as they'll all just get locked.

I believe he's posting to stop people from BUYING... not selling. Obviously I agree, people are doing this (selling isk for real cash) because the market is there.
I find it quite amusing people have to buy isk anyway. Over my time here, I noticed the work effort dwindle. Everyone wants more, quicker... now!

Just to make you guys aware that there is perfectly legit way to buy ISK's. Why should I use "illegial" ways when there is legit ways offered by CCP around? ________________________________________________________ Freedom is illusion created by weird voices in my head |

No, unfortunately it is completely true. So long as CCP get the cash then they are happy for you to use a loophole to buy ISK. Sux, huh? ______________________________________________

Edited by: SengH on 14/11/2005 09:07:33 lol tbh someone should ask the macro miners/ isk sellers that.... why should I buy from you when I can just sell game time cards and it wont get me b7 and gets me more isk? Not that im advocating it in any way.. imho CCP should have started rewarding the people that report the most legit bugs... or something like every legit bug that gets entered in the system gets a "raffle ticket". Rather than whoever signs up more trial accts. That would have made way more sense and provided incentive for people to actually go to sisi to test rather than using it as a arena.

A lot of those sites will scam you out of your money and there's nothing you can do about it. Can't complain to CCP because it'll get you banned. Can't compliain to the website that's scamming you because they don't give a rats ass. Can't complain to the credit card company because you purchased virtual goods you had no right to, which aren't covered under most fraud protection schemes. Can't complain to paypal if they make you pay by that because they are incompetant and aren't regulated by any banking authorities at all - the person can transfer the money to another paypal account or to a bank account and they can't do squat to get it back. Also, charges over ú40 can never be recovered and typically they can't reimburse over ú20 since the user has jacked the funds out of their account already and ú20 is the maximum they will pay back on the seller's behalf while they investigate.
On top of all that, you have absolutely no way of knowing if CCP are on to the seller and they have records of every trade he has ever made, every ISK sent every escrow put up, everything. Even if they take a year to catch him, your name is on the ban list. I wouldn't like to waste both my money and my time on a game when I can just waste my time, especially since there's a good chance you'll be banned in the future from it without a second of warning.
If they ask for paypal or e-gold, you may as well set fire to your money and save yourself the bother. If you've gotten away with buying or selling ISK, it's only a matter of time before the CCP boot lands on your face. The devil makes you work hard for your damnation.
