Edited by: BlackHole Bob on 14/11/2005 19:34:14 Here is a link to eVe being played on a 10 foot + wide high definition screen in Las Vegas just a week ago in a very famous nightclub at 2am at night last Monday.
We played the eVe never fades video in the background on " 9 - 42 inch plasma's" and a "10 feet 7 inch high def motorized widescreen and projection system", I installed at a club here in Las Vegas about 6 months ago.
this lowly pic cannot do justice to "eVe Never Fades" as seen on the BIG SCREEN.....just amazing...flawless vid at that depth and size....people were stunned when they found out its a game ....you can PLAY.....
While playing this video in the background many people came to our control room to asked us what it was. They were floored to believe it was a game anyone could play....
Great PR 4tw!
enjoy the two lowly camera phone pics i have showing it happening:P
at least it was an ownage scene....
The club was quite full:P......
musta gave the URL to eve-online.com out 50 times...LOL

Bob, thanks for throwing the EVE Never Fades trailer on a big screen. You're right, watching it on a smaller monitor just doesn't do it justice. I saw it for the first time on a large screen at the FanFest at the end of Oveur's RMR presentation and it was just awesome played on 2 screens roughly the same size as the one in your link.

kieron,
thanks for the words....always fun to promote things like this....
if enough people were interested I would consider hosting a large eVe event in las vegas ...
I am just not sure how many would like to come to Lost Wages (las vegas) and have a big eVe Party????
I have the resources and people in place to orginize it....
and for sure...the eVe never fades video rules ....played it with sound during the day yesterday ....people just drooled....they loved the Junkiziel sound track.....

Considering that I don't live too far away from Las Vegas, I'd be interested in showing up and even bringing some EVE swag with me. Just give me some advance warning and keep in contact. I'll raid the EVE Store for some nifty stuff.

I've shown it to several people since it came out... it's definitely a jaw-dropper. Most people are amazed that it's a game.
And yeah, the Junkie XL soundtrack works very, VERY well with the visuals.
Vegas sounds like a good idea, too. :) Much cheaper than flying to Iceland, and has its own "nice scenery". :)

Edited by: Syris Anu on 14/11/2005 20:35:27 I play Eve on the big screen every time I login (home theater projector). Maybe I should turn my place into a nightclub. :) It does look pretty nice, though it makes some of the distance transitions (where ships seem to suddenly 'shrink' as you zoom out past certain trigger points) pretty obvious.

Give serious consideration to the week before or the week after GDC 2006. Last year, CCP sent 15+ Devs to GDC and a trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas isn't that long. Again, send me an e-mail, I'd love to get some discussion going about a LV player gathering.

I thought this was going to be about turning Eve into a movie. Of course, it would be the worst movie ever since it would contain like 20 differnt stories and 18 of them would go unfinished by the movies 3rd sequal

I thought the CCP webpage said that you had to be willing/able to move to Iceland inorder to be hired? Guess I should work on my resume and get it sent in if I can stay in the States.
Now hopefully you guys are hiring... ------------------------------------ Your Civilian Gatling Railgun perfectly strikes Choke Slam [CAIN], wrecking for 6.0 damage. |

Eve's market penetration in the US market is pretty sad. Perhaps that is why kieron's still here to work on getting it up.

Cool to see this.
I am planning on running Eve on a beamer. Unfortunatly prices for high quality high definition beamers are still very high.
Anybody got any experience with the standard 800*600 beamers? This resolution of any use at all or complete crap?
