its a Tristan with no implants on eft..I actually have memory and intel fitted but only at plus3 each so couldn't set it to the option of +5 in eft and shouldn't the eft be showing worse if without implants is set and i have them...anyway heres the details...
Tristan Quantum Co-Processor Civilian Armor Repairer 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Experimental 1MN Afterburner I Small Ancillary Shield Booster Regulated Light Neutron Phase Cannon I x2 EMPTY HIGH SLOT Small Semiconductor Memory Cell I Small Ancillary Current Router I x2
EFT Info ..... Stable at 39% ...rest pretty irrelevant I imagine but can supply upon request Outfitting Info (edit added 20secs after posting 0202uk time) Capacitor depletes in 12 seconds
I know its possible for me to try it and find out but its a bit risky and whats the guarantee that even one is correct anyway - perhaps they both wrong or im interpreting its meaning wrong?
way im looking at it- eft wrong -hacked program outfitting wrong -bought a counterfeit ship item that was sneakily mislabelled thanks guys C/O of Gallante Thorax Class Cruiser $$^$$^&%$ (cipher enabled for security purposes), fresh out of Dry Dock |

so if you have it set to without it will assume you have no skills at all. The ingame fitting tool takes into account all skills you have trained so far |

The first difference between the fitting screen and EFT is that the CPU and PG numbers in EFT are shown as used/total while the Fitting screen shows remaining/total. Looking at the values you've listed the difference in the total capacities is approximately 15% in both cases; consistent with a [without skills] profile in EFT compared with the Electronics and Engineering skills which were both at [3] in your starter skillset. You're using 1.3TF less than EFT which I guess must mean you have Weapon Upgrades (which reduces the CPU requirements of your weapons) because there isn't anything else in your fit which would be effected by upgrade skills.
The capacitor side is more tricky (particularly because frigate capacitors are often on a knife edge between apparent stability and very short sustainability times) but I would guess that EFT is reading ammunition loaded into your ASB and assuming it will never be used without it - while the Fitting screen is assuming that it will be used empty and therefore will be a significant drain on your capacitor. |

vmt. so I can assume both programs correct but to me it seems strange- either a stable fit or a less than 20 second capacitor runtime fit -they seem chasms apart to me.. what would I need to do to equalise the results as regards readings for ship stability? I just have to say that is a god-aweful Frankenfit. Civilian repairer? Armor buffer and semi-active shield.
[Tristan, lowskill fit] Drone Damage Amplifier I Drone Damage Amplifier I [empty low slot]
Medium Ancillary Shield Booster, Navy Cap Booster 25 Experimental 1MN Afterburner I [empty med slot]
Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I, Antimatter Charge S Modal Light Neutron Particle Accelerator I, Antimatter Charge S [empty high slot]
[empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot]
Hobgoblin I x5
Use this as a baseline and add stuff as you please to make it possible if you have bad fitting skills. |

k, first the reply to post, don't need to look up(be with you shortly rg).
I have read up gallente are primarily armor buffers, something which I have decided to incorporate. it is short term to complete a mission where I expect to get pummelled. I do like shields however. perhaps I went with the wrong race. just something about the race name, doubt i'm the only one.
thanks for the start of ship fit start. it is very kind of you and appreciated.
might you know why my ship stability from eft and outfitting screen are so far apart in results.. by using the same parts -ammunition lack of inclusion in one and something to do with charge seems a bit off when people use one program to help the other in game? Have you updated your API? If you're a new player and training skills fast, chances are your API info on EFT is out of date and needs to be updated. I usually update mine every time I use EFT, it only takes a couple of seconds. Oh god. |

Navigation, Gunnery, Implants, Engineering not so heavy but still Electronics ...they are my main research areas ...not really done much in the area of armor specifically so will have a look at that the next few days C/O of Gallante Thorax Class Cruiser $$^$$^&%$ (cipher enabled for security purposes), fresh out of Dry Dock |

right I am off for a bicycle ride (notification will be afk for a while). am trying to lose some belly flab, and to say it appears a nice sunny day out there, is an understatement :) too much time spent on this pc and watching satellite tv.
thanks for all the information supplied so far. to play this game effectively and have a correct working eft seems essential to me to save time.. my other ship fits have been ok, achieving stability very easily in both outfitting and eft for my ships. this is very puzzling...

Gallente has post balance become a bit more versatile regarding tanking styles. Armor buffer and active armor repair is still preferred though.
Armor tanking is getting better and better for each patch, so it's very viable now. And you get a lot of utility.
You also have to train drones, or the fit I provided will be useless with the drone damage amplifiers. Get Drones IV or V asap.
If you use all V in EFT it will differ from ingame, but should be correct if you import your API key. |

To get EFT to match (as closely as possible) what you would see in game you will need to feed it information. As I said earlier, you're using the [without skills] default pilot from the looks of things at present and even as a brand new pilot, created just a second ago you will have more skills than that default. As the skills will provide you with greater fittings, more hitpoints; will modify your cycle times and change the damage your output they will make a sigtnificant difference to your fit.
There are two methods by which you can give EFT the information it needs:
The first option is something of a stop-gap, it isn't too tricky to begin with but it's work intensive and not very valuable as your character develops - it can be useful if your EFT machine is not connected to the net however. The Character Editor will allow you to create a character with the specs you need, create a new character in there and assign the skills you have on your character in game. It's a clunky method but has a certain value (I have a character set up in my EFT for example which only has starter skills (though all races) so that I can build very newbie friendly fits).
More useful is the second option. You will first need to create an API for your account - this API needs very little access as it will only read the skills you have completed in EFT. You will then use the Character Editor to create a new profile which you will then link to this API key. You'll need to select that character when building fits for your skills to apply but it will allow you to build to the limits of your current skills.

You need to load cap booster charges into your ancillary shield booster or it will consume your capacitor very quickly. By default EFT puts the smallest cap boosters that will fit in for you so it doesn't take any cap to run your booster. |

was away from my pc slightly longer than expected...distance cycling I need to get used to. anyway, vmt for the info regarding character editor. tbh I didn't notice it was there. though it does seem strange as character editor does flag up what is character related in game...my posting about the ammunition and energy charge didn't seem to account for the difference kind of shows i thought something was still wrong which led me to the implants which I could only set either level 1 or level 5. anyway vmt for the info. I haven't entered the skills yet but it sounds as if that could be the problem. once again, thanks. felmeric, ok I will make sure to do that, thanks. will firstly get the shock with the equalised eft after skills input then hopefully feel a bit happier when ive added the cap booster. thankyou very much for your advice too. :)
