if we were to give it a scan probe bonus, a removal of the scan resolution penalty for cloaking devices and a jump drive,
we could jump in with the caps, be scanning and running support at the same time. give all marauders web bonuses to
range and speed.
once the battle is done, the marauder can cloak up, go through a gate to a new system and start scanning. once something is found, light a cyno and stand watch over the caps.
make it like a t2 recon and give it the cyno reduction timer AND fuel consumption. make it like BLOPS and not allow it to fly
cloaked.
where as BLOPS gets the reduction in lock penalty, marauders would get the reduction in scan res penalty.
once battles are done, the marauder can jump out with the fleet, or stay and wreak havok. scan down better sites and destroy
them if he is able too, or summon the fleet.
this would actually fit the role or solo destrutor AND tie in fleet play. it would sort of carry on the recon side of things to the bs
level. we can run solo through gates, scan and destroy (which ties in the marauder side), plus run escourt until the fleet is
clear. it would become an anchor ship for fleet ops. a copovs would bring em in and they might stay in a system cloaked
and scan. the covops would then branch off and continue to fly cloaked and search.
the marauder would become an all around ship.
since the black ops can not only jump, it can bridge AND cloak, i dont see this as a problem giving the marauder a jump drive so it can reach deep into enemy territory undetected and "lie in wait".
Sounds a lot like what Tech 3 battleships might look like...
