YOU SEE!!!!! We are on to your tricks Goonswarm tried tricking us by relabeling it's product under the new name of Goonwaffles, then after some investigation Glen beck found very compelling evidence that Goonswarm was a CIA front .
Why do you think when Goonswarm says jump eve DEV's say how high.
And it's a well known fact that Goonswarm is the brain child behind bitcoins!
It's all become so clear now, I knew there was a method to their madness all along, Scientology!

It is a well known fact that the goons are fanatic LDS. You may think that they are scientologists due to them worshiping Xenu, but this is a massive troll perpetrated by the goons against all those who follow scientology. But alas, SA is connected to the LDS church and they use that vehicle to attract the dregs of society and reform them into a useful idiot to earn capital for the group. This is why you see so much blind affection towards the goon leadership, and the reason they call themselves bees. A bee does not question why it gathers the pollen, it just simply does because that is what the queen has told it to do. Mittani is their queen and he controls the useful idiots that goons pull from SA to continue the RMT trade that goonswarm was setup for, in support of the church of LDS. Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought. |

So I grew up with Mormons and live in the second largest Mormon town for 15 years (less than a mile from the temple). To make it even more interesting my Dad was a Scientologist (I even own his e meter after he passed). Add that to the fact that several close family friends were fanatical Baptists that were actively preparing for the end time wars (their weddings included a part where the bride and groom made slashing sword moves along with the congregation to represent them eventually chopping the heads off of the sinners along side JC himself when he returned!) My Canadian side of the family were Catholics and my best friend in college a Lutheran. My best friend in grade school was Jewish. So I've seen a lot of religions up close.
The goons definitely are not LDS (I would almost call LDS a cult, anyone that thinks they are just like any other Christian religion needs to research more. But they will recruit anyone and are very "moral" by what I would call the societal norms.)
The goons are pretty close to Scientology. And much like Scientology seem to make their core followers pretty happy about being part of the cult. The goons are hardly "moral" and neither are Scientologists (again, morality is subjective). The leadership of both groups are about power and benefits for its highest ranking members. Both groups go out of their way to attack anyone they perceive as an enemy. Having been on the wrong side of both organizations they feel very much alike. Sad part is both organizations have some really good things going for them too! Scientology has some core beliefs that can make you happier and more effective. The goons offer a pretty great experience in Eve for their members (Tada O was a member of the Goons in the early days and most of us loved it). Where it all goes pear shaped is how the two organization react to outsiders.
Now the question is do other organizations in Eve map to belief systems represented in religions? Exploring that might be an interesting discussion. I'd offer that BEEP/Tada O is closest to Church of the SubGenius. We were founded on the idea that we would never be bum optimal which is pretty much the same as making sure every member is free to get their "slack" back. We were also created with a sense of humor.
So how do the other alliances and prominent corps map to RL religions or belief systems?
Anyone have some ideas?

Eve forum "dealers" have no idea for truth of what a delusional egocentric individual is capable of, they're just putting words together to make pretty and think they have an impact on this discussion, flash news: they don't
Second flash news: before you even talk about egocentric or delusional personalities please make yourself a favor and Google it and at least wiki it !
Eve GD is a concentration of players loving this game, expression their opinions in many forms either because in their mother language the way they express it it's harmful or rather significant, either just because they have something to add despite knowing their voice doesn't count.
By all means, Eve GD is certainly the most living place forum I've ever seen, the greatest concentration of passionate people as intelligent ones, but it also has his paws, trolls and idiots without who GD wouldn't really have a sense.
You have yet to show me a forum where so much passion directly collides with so much incomprehension and still manages, with all ti's ganks yadaya, to be such a living and interesting forum to post, read and participate.

Goons play a video game.
Scientlogists wreck families, enslave and dehumanize children and have a disturbingly fascist view of a Clear world. I'd say they have nothing in common with Goons. Scientlogy is disgusting and immoral, not worthy of the label of religion and any individial taking anything Hubbard ever wrote seroious is batshit insane.

Not to say Mormons or Scientologists are difficult to get a long with or anything, I find them sweet and endearing, unlike like those crazy christians who ignore the precise parts of their own holy book that contain the actual teachings of Christ, or the equally wild and woolly salafist muslims who are just itching to throw their lives away.
But you do have to give it up for people who will seriously do their utmost to believe in Xenu or magic glasses in order to not think about death.
I think the founders of EVE got the Amarr just right as the future of religion. Still crazy after all these years. Still violent. Still thinking they are right and everyone else is wrong.
The thing is without death, there would be no religion, and thus no Amarr.

Well, whatever you say about Goons, they are by far the most artistic alliance in the game. Some of their recruiting posters, etc. are really first-rate, IMO. And the Mittani is one of the best bloggers/writers, in terms of creativity and entertainment value. The Goon mentality isn't really my thing personally, but got to give credit when credit is due....

See, this is where TEST is doomed to fail. They had the hubris to try to make themselves in the Goons' image. But they have no Charismatic Leader. And some not very titillating blog posts.
