Amazing game and only about six days into it!
Started off with an explorer's kit off of steam and dove right in to scanning and finding myself some money, which eventually took me into low sec where I managed to not die! A few days later I become interested in pvp so with some advice from the forums I joined up with faction warfare.
This brings me to my first explosion and death. I undocked from the station I was in, went to look at the star map. Boom! poof! Was killed in I think 1 second and then my pod was destroyed leaving this odd looking corpse floating in space. I laughed it off and shared my experience in militia corp chat. A helpful member who spoke to me on the forums first and then in the corp told me I just learned my first lesson in pvp, Don't sit still.
Next day I find myself joining a fleet, making about 30 jumps to get to said fleet, and I had a blast! Learned a ton. Now this fleet was led by a very charismatic pirate who also seems to love faction warfare and generally just killing any and anyone. He explains everything along the way for us new guys in TS3. So I have now spent two good chunks of my time in his fleet absorbing knowledge and seeing a few guys explode. This fleet has been running in very low sec areas and now I don't want to leave. Even trying to meet up with the fleet has been exhilarating a few times as people try to lock me while I travel.
Now to find a home in this low sec system, fly, die, hopefully kill something on my own one day. Continue with my exploration in downtime, keep the skills training, and work towards being able to sit in the pilots' seat of that "Bruiser" Maller I read about. Perhaps one day I will be accomplished enough to join this blood thirsty fleet commander's corp.
Just wanted to share my first week in EVE. A shame I didn't try this a decade ago. |

Glad you are having fun and have found people who are willing to help you! Hope to see you around in space someday (and hopefully it will not involve you trying to blow me up  )

All my solo attempts so far end in death so your system is safe for now, but I keep heading out there ha. Just jumped in this nightly FW/pirate fleet I've been rolling with and one of these days I'll get my first kill.
