I don't understand why all of a sudden anything T2 needs lvl 5 skills to use where until t2 turrets came out (and RCUII) it was lvl 4s. Lvl 5 in heavy drones is a phenomenal training time sink at Rank 5, and prob only useful for a handful of hardcore gallente BS/dread pilots.
It's a shame as it renders T2 heavy drones nigh on impossible to sell I would imagine, especially when their longevity isn't that much higher than standard drones (how many times have you lost or forgotten a drone?). A real, real shame. Congrats on the sale anyway -------------

Tech 2 heavy drones are extreme power after you train for them. You can make your opponents and npc's dissapier from the existance in very short time. For instance have you ever been targetted by 15 Beserker 2's .. You would remember it
Heavy drones are powerfull additions to any combat situation when you need to have that extra power. and tech 2 heavy drones bring in plenty more.

Maybe a fair point, but I doubt they're worth a) the training time nor b) the cost over their T1 counterparts for the extra effectiveness in 95% of situations. Again, this may not apply to gallente pilots with 5 in all relevant skills already and more power to them.
My point is spoken from the perspective of a T2 builder. For a multi-bill investment as this bpo is, to have such a limited customer base, combined with competition and the (relative) ease at which numbers of these can be made (= too much supply = lower prices) means I'd really wonder how long it'd take to sell enough units to make back the isk. But as I also said, congrats to the seller and buyer, and good luck. Maybe you'll get lucky and market griefers will do for T2 drones what they did and still do for CRIIs.
I just wish CCP had made heavy drones accessible to the masses, as drones are consumables/disposables and easilt lost, left behind or destroyed. It'd make the T2 ones more useful in both combat, and as another product to sell for T2 builders. I'd use em if they needed lvl 4, but I'm not investing 25 days for a 5% drone damage increase, and nor will most players, there's a lot of better skills to train and mods worth using than for the benefit these offer. -------------

Edited by: Glarion Garnier on 18/11/2005 22:50:39 Beserker tech 1 speed 1050 m/s shield 240 armor 360 dmg mod 1.3 trackingspeed / accuracy 0,3495 rad/sec 35,75 dmg per drone every 2 secods with Heavy drones 5 14 drones = 264,25 dps
Beserker tech 2 speed 1260 m/s shield 288 armor 432 dmg mod 1.56 trackingspeed / accuracy 0,4194 rad/sec 46.332 dmg per drone every 2 secods 14 drones = 324.3 dps
Id say that's quite a difference between tech 1 & tech 2 drones. all important fields are better.

It's not just 5% more damage, you get that just from the skill. The tech2 drones have 20% more damage and 20% better tracking so you get at least 26% more damage. Maybe not worth training if you don't use drones much, but any pure combat char would love 26% more damage.
