Does anyone have data on the mineral yields when refining ores at refining efficiency 4? Specifically, I'm interested in yields for jaspet-ark.
Thanks! |

If you currently have Ref Eff lvl 3 simply refine a single batch and look at the amount of wasted minerals. Take that number and multipy it by .04 (4%) and that is the differnce you will see per batch when you refine...

checked the website, but the calculator is off. At refining eff 4 I get 956 trit / 333 veldspar. The calculator said 969. From what I can tell, they just multipied the ref eff 3 yield by 1.04, which is incorrect since increasing efficiency reduces the waste by 4%. |

refining eff is bugged
that is why you don't get the same result

Check out evegeek.no-ip.com tonight when I've updated it.

Just a quick error. From the top of the page.
Quote: 22.5 gives 22 units, but 22.5+22.5 gives 50
22.5 + 22.5 = 45, not 50.

Hmm...evegeek...nice tables. Thanks for the info.
Personally, I've tried to come up with a "to the penny" schedule in excel, but have had no success. The base yields (ie refining without any refine skill) x 1.32 is a very close "ballpark" figure for 5+5 yields. There is a variable missing doing this method, but "ballpark" has been ok for me vs. continously pulling my hair out. =)
As a side note...For anyone w/o high refine skills, selling ore MAY net you much more isk vs refining it and hauling it to a station to sell the minerals. There are a lot of ppl out there with 5+5 refine skills that will pay you isk as if you possessed a Refine Efficiency skill of Level 3 or 4. That's why you see a lot of buy orders for ore nowadays. Just thought I'd mention it, fyi, for those without the Refine Efficiency skill. ---------------------------------------------

here are some values with 5+5 skills that I have verified by refining 100k+ amounts of ore:
veldspar: 2,972 scordite: 7,423 pyrox: 17,287 plag: 19,027 kernite: 92,706

The way it works is: Yield = Base yield (no skill) * (1 + Ref * .02) * (1 + Eff * .04)
I believe if you have Ref Eff 3, to figure out the values for Eff 4:
Yield (Eff 3) = C * (1 + 3 * .04) Yield (Eff 4) = C * (1 + 4 * .04)
Yield (Eff 4)/Yield (Eff 3) = 1.16/1.12 = 1.0357
(C is a constant obtained by factoring out all the common stuff between the two yield calcs) ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

when I calculate yeield for ore I use:
1.02^5 + 1.04^5 that give 32% addon for the minerals at max level. That will give an error for scordite of 0,003 isk / unit and 0,09 error for kernite. The value you get is sometimes a little over the real value and sometimes a little under but never far from the real value.
I know, I have made excel sheats for the last 4 levels of refine eff to know what I should pay for ore.

That formula is horribly incorrect. Skills don't stack with themselves. They do multiply with each other.
It's (1 + Ref * .02) * (1 + Eff * .04)
E.g. for 5/5, it's 1.1*1.2 - For 5/3 it would be 1.1*1.12 ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |
