Ive been running alot of hauling missions with my iterons. I.e. Production/MArketing etc.
Unfortunetly theres alot of pirates who gate camp, sometimes in small groups sometimes alone. Ive lost a few haulers to them.
So whats the best setup for building a strong all round tank? Mass shield extenders? or Rechargers? Best way to compensate for low powergrid?
Lastly can I still squeeze on an afterburner?

Instajump Bookmarks and Nanofiber Internal Structures
(Yeah, I know the IJBMs are going to get nerfed, but they still work for now.) ---------------------------------

Hint: Massive CPU and 5 mid slots.
OK, the shields are weak, but you can fit 3 hardeners, a medium booster and a shield boost amp in the 5 slots. Alternatively fit a 10Mn AB instead of amp for a bit of speed.
That keeps your low slots free for 5 WCS, or some nanos or some extenders, or a mixture.
Of course if you are really paranoid, fit a cloak and warp to random point, then cloak. But to put it into perspective, if you do run foul of an insta locking sniping BS, no regular Indy can handle that!

Also with 5 mids you can fit 3 multi-spec jammers and jam up the tacklers, also a 400 plate and small rep should help you survive longer.
mids 1 t2 ab 3 multi spec jammers 1 cap injector? a 4th jammer?
Lows 1 small t2 rep 1 400 plate 1 nano 2 WCS

If you use jammers on a target it only means youi are as trapped at the gate as he is, youi have aggroed him and canŠt jump through.

If I could get up to 3000 Shield Strength and some resistance, would 1 BS sniper still eat through it in seconds?
Would I have time to warp away?

Maybe signal boosters( for fast lock and range) and one or two sensor dampeners.....good thing is they won't use much cap
unlike jamming mods.....

Lose the nano in most of these setups and use a local hull Inertial Stab.
All the benefit (in fact more benefit that just nano's) of faster acceleration to warp times, and ZERO comebacks with relation to Hull strength.

my iteron 4 with just a shield booster can survive 1-2 volleys from a single bs which is almost always enough time to warp (provided you pick the warp target that will be the fastest to align to), i see no reason your iteron 5 with tank mods couldn't do the same.
tip: If you manage to warp away, ALWAYS immediately warp again to a different place. It's not difficult to watch what direction an indy aligned and warped too and figure out what their target was. (I'd say about 3 out of 5 pirates i warp from follow me to my warp target)
And if they arrive before you managed to warp again, even if they only arrived 2 or 3 seconds before you warped. warp again immediately upon reaching that point.

When warping between two places, drop a Bookmark, warp back to it, warp to another planet/object from it, drop second BM
Warp to that place, which is now a safespot. Unless he's fitted with scan probes you're relatively safe from him. Meanwhile, figure out your next move.
Warping willy nilly between planets isn't a great plan as if he's quicker than you, chances are he might catch you. Dropping safespot BMs mid warp is a better plan. ------------------ Dad (noun) - someone who's wallet now contains a picture where his money once was. |

Edited by: Berasus'' Minion on 17/11/2005 10:57:30 between planets has always worked fine for me, i've never had anyone come even close to getting there fast enough to even begin to lock me, most of the time they arrive just as i'm dissapearing.
if he's fast enough to make that bookmark safespot thing worth doing, then he already caught you when you came out of the 1st warp (since you would have to do a full 180 in an industrial to warp back to the bm).
